I would think so, because you're not necessarily going on there with the intention of finding a significant other. You're just going on there to play a game so you're more likely to meet someone with similar interests and things will happen naturally like in real life.
Dating sites seem so forced.

Not a bad question, but the thing is when people play games online, it's to play games online and not to hook up. When they go to dating sites, it's specifically TO hook up. Averaging out how many people play games online and are also interested in starting a relationship are very slim, and next to nothing in your area (more than likely).

What has two thumbs and went from logging, on average about 25 hours a week on gaming (On weeks that I have a daily work schedule, not including weekends) to less than 4 hours a week on any game?

THIS GUY.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not ungrateful. She makes my life. But not having someone to play video games with SUCKS.

Take it from someone that's in an online relationship through a medium other than gaming: It's much better to meet someone through something you love doing, rather than going to places you never want to see again. If they hold a similar obsession over video games as you do, you'll find that you two have MUCH more in common.

I got like 20 + girls on my Xbox 360 I talk to them all on Xbox party and when we are playing battlefield 3. but I wouldn't date that's a bit to much, saying that we are just top competitors even do they might like me but they know I'm a busy boy. But i would like them to keep chasing me.

When you game all that adrenaline and stuff makes you not worry about first impressions so you are more likely yourself. It helps you figure a person out who they really are and not who they appear to be. For example: I have a family member that is a real jerk and pretends to be a ladies man but when he plays those games he's like an alcoholic on a drunken rampage.

In my own personal experiences from relationships my friends got in via online gaming, its not usually been a good thing. There may be some fond memories that came from it, but overall I remember my friends being relatively depressed, alone, and just not very satisfied. But then again, people say not to date at work and thats where i found my future wife so.... who knows.

Maybe it's just the people I hang out with, but I know quite a few people who are married to or living with people they met playing games online, including myself and my brother. I think online games are just naturally conducive to people opening up to each other and bonding over shared experiences.

I disagree with both dating sites and meeting someone through gaming. It's ridiclous. So many frauds, fakes, and potential dangers. To me, it's simply idiotic to trust someone you've never met face-to-face.

I say no overall, cause many people do role play in most video games and get into character, I seen way to many males online playing shim;s in game, But sense I could her them on voice chat I knew, where as the people that did not know just assumed they were female by how they chatting on the text box.

The guys that played the shim characters generally did it for gifts in game be it coin or items, as most guys are stupid and real life and will pretty much do anything they can for girl they are interested in.

Can see how it could work, infact i work with a guy who met a girl from the States while online gaming, they have a long distance relationship and plan to live together very soon...BUT what those stats dont put over is people on a dating site are most likely going to narrow down their 'search' to say people within a practical distance of meeting, where as online gaming the person your attracted to could be on the otherside of the planet. I have met girls on dating sites and cant help thinking that sitting in a restaurant talking to each other over a nice meal beats skyping, or talking to each other whilst slaying trolls.

You already have a shared interest. On a dating site your shared interest is that you'd like to be in a relationship. You're also on the game to play which doesn't make you come off as desperate.
