Former Plus-Sized Model Crystal Renn Slims Down: Better or Worse?

Crystal Renn may be the ultimate chameleon. The former-anorexic-turned-successful-plus-sized model has slimmed down and dyed her hair platinum blonde, to the point that she's now almost unrecognizable. "I've been a double-zero, children's clothes, at 95 pounds, and I've been all the way up to a size 16 and everything in between," Crystal Renn told The Daily Mail. "Now I'm a 6, 8, sometimes a 10, depending on what designer I'm wearing."

Some are suspicious of the sudden change, given Renn's frankness about anorexia in her 2009 memoir "Hungry: A Young Model's Story of Appetite, Ambition, and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves." As a plus-sized model at 165 pounds, she landed several lucrative deals and became a well-known name in the industry.

But Renn starting exercising about a year ago, telling People, "I've been doing yoga for a while now. ...I have found a place of stability when it comes to how to view my figure." And she promises there's nothing shady going on. "When this whole weight-loss thing happened, I think that a lot of people wanted to point their finger at somebody," Renn said in a recent interview. "They wanted to find a conspiracy where there absolutely was none." So ... do you think Renn looks better or worse?

The fact that a big part of her weight loss was a bad break-up bothers me.

She's 5'9 and the biggest she ever was, was 165 pounds, that's within healthy range. Not even counted as overweight. So I don't see how it's better for her health either.

I would worry if she were bony and super thin, but from the photo she doesn't look to bad. I actually think America should adopt the Israeli standard of imposing a minimum weight limit on their models.

She was always healthy, she's 5'9, 165 pounds for some that tall is in healthy range.

Actually it is bordering on overweight, and her percentage of body fat was hardly ideal. You can see clearly that she isn't underweight in the photos where she lost weight, and I think losing weight healthily is always a good lifestyle choice.

She certainly didn't look overweight, and her body weight has always stayed in the healthy range. A person can be healthy without being skinny, plenty of people have more body weight than others yet still exercise and eat healthy etc.

Probalby better for her health but I think a woman that has some curves and flesh is more attractive. If she is cofortable and sexy in her own skin then that is all that counts.

There is no better or worse. She is very beautiful both ways..the only reason I picked worse is because I don't like her new hair color. Darker hair suits her better.

I think she looks healthy... we've grown so accustomed to fat acceptance that we've started viewing healthy bodies as "anorexic"... her smallest size is a 6... she does not look anorexic. I think it's concerning that so many people responded that this was worse, rather than better... why justify fat?

No one is justifying 'fat'.....but she does not look 'fat' in the 2010 picture.
She, in my eyes, looks healthy. In the 2012 picture it honestly looks to me that if she caught a cold, she would end up hospitalized with IV's to insure she stays hydrated.
Fat and curvacious has been linked in some peoples mind for some reason.
