As a child I was sexually abused by a cousins husband. I was angry and filled with hate for a lot of years. Then the Lord lead me to a big truth. Who did my hatred and anger really hurt? It sure wasn't the man who had hurt me. He didn't care one way or another. I never saw him again. My anger only hurt me. Forgiving him was the best thing I have ever done. It allowed me to move beyond being a victim to being a survivor. Hatred is a Cancer and Forgiveness is the Cure.

But you should watch out about how forgiving you are or it could easily turn into a weakness when you are being played a fool. Repeat offenders can exploit this forgiving nature.

its my strength and my weakness...
my ying and my yang...

I forgive even if its the hardest one to forgive...
I'm too forgiving thats why other's took advantage of it and abused my trust...
I forgive because its part of moving on...
but once my trust is crumpled too many times, it wont be the same ever again...

Depends...are you truly forgiving, or are you giving it lip service & you are going to harbor secret resentment that will build up and boil over years later? If you can absolutely forgive, great -- you'll probably be a happy person; if you can't yet, don't pretend that you have -- it will make the situation worse.
