In R.I. all convents closed due to low number of nuns. Most now live in Apt.and most pay $700.+ I lucked out and found a sweet 4 room bungalow.I pay $475. month.God's gift to me.I post this as a nasty SH just said on a post "nuns don't have homes." I explained this on my post 5+ years ago.Sometimes intelligent people read before they state UNTRUE facts.I think I did better than those paying more in small Apt. Hope she's happy..as I have said before if you think I am not a nun HI from the Easter Bunny....that's on my profile also.LOL

There are rude and nasty people here. You don't have to explain yourself to anybody. Of course you have a home. And even if you lived in a convent that would also be your home, to which you contribute and to which you belong. It's nobody else's business, but I'm glad you have a nice bungalow.

I'm sorry to hear about the convents. :( That's sad. I myself have considered monastic life, as I could definitely use a closer relationship with God. I am glad to hear that you're doing well, though. :)

that person is a jerk. I'm sorry that happened to you and I'm glad you found a great place. It reminds me of when I was on a thread about food stamps and I relayed something that had happened to me, shortly after I was separated and a single mom. Getting paid once a month is tough. I had to get groceries a few days before payday. I thought I had all of $10 in my checking account. I bought $8 in groceries, but my debit card was declined. As nice lady paid it for me, and said she was glad to help.

I then became "the teacher on food stamps" by several conservatives. Some people on here are just downright disgusting.

You know Sister that there is a extraordinary amount of folks on this site that have a personality or mental disorder or both. Perhaps a genetic defect or mom dropped them on their head. You just have to block them or ignore that percentage that continues to act like the fringe lunatics.

What nonsense! Of course you have a home. And, it's no one's business where, what kind, or how much you pay. While it's true that few now live in convents, nuns still need a roof, walls and, if lucky, a cellar or attic.
