For people who hate gays because the Bible tells you so. You are wrong!

1) The Bible was written hundrets of yeas ago. Times have changed.

2) The Bible is not exactly the Word of God. The Bible was written by various authors and they wrote what THEY believed. at this time it was simply normal to hate gays. The AUTHORS of the texts believed being gay was wrong. They didn´t even question this because it was simply ordinary, they did not even had a choice. Christians thought being jew is a sin and Christians also thought black people are born to be slaves.

3) You believe in God, right? Do you really think God hates people loving each other? Does God hate love? Do you think God judges people only by their sexuality? Do you think he ignores their personality and only looks at their sexuality?

4) Most gays behave more christian than you do. Gays know what it´s like to be bullied and to be hated so they usually don´t hate and don´t bully because they know it´s wrong to judge people. They love and the Bible tells to love. Do you remember love of the neighbor? Charity? According to the Bible you should even love your enemy.

5) Why should God hate anything he has created? You can´t choose to be gay. Many gays aren´t lucky to be homosexual. If you could choose your sexuality why would they be gay then?

6) According to the Bible God loves every human. Every. yes, if you believe it or not he loves gays, too.

Edit: Some people misunerstood this post. I was trying to prove that the Bible does NOT tell people to hate gays. The heading is for all homophobes who "believe" the Bible tells them to hate gays which is simply wrong.

People that "hate" gays these days are often ignorant, racist, bigots, socially isolated or awkward, just plain old hate mongers ,losers or evil religious zealot lunatics ! There is no "sane" or "logical" reason to despise or hate people that are homosexual....unless you have issues yourself or a "hidden-agenda." People insecure in their own sexuality or (masculinity) are the ones threatened by out loud and proud, visible gay people....it is their problem, not the problem of the homosexual in society in today's world. Social conservatives and right wing bigots are also often homophobic, racist and cannot accept the differences that make up the mosaic of humanity. Religious nut-jobs are also "mentally ill" and believe the Bible or God hates gays. This is utter nonsense and the total misuse of religion. Sane, happy, logical, fair-minded, good and decent heterosexuals are the ones that are in favor of full gay equality, marriage equality, an end to racism, homophobia and bigotry of all kinds. Only the "drunk-on-religion" evil fanatics, the racists, the bigots, the discontent, the down and out, and insecure are opponents of gay rights and visibility. The youth of today accepts gays as they are....no issues. They do not perceive being gay as some horrendous sin or egregious tragedy, as past generations did. They feel gay people should be allowed to live their lives openly, honestly, peacefully and not merely be "tolerated." They are consenting adults and tax paying citizens...they must be treated equally and fairly under the law, too. Hating, despising, vilifying and mobilizing to disadvantage gays does no good whatsoever to anyone or any thing in society at large. The world is a better place these days, where gays can marry, be honest about their relationships, not have to "hide" and live in perpetual fear. They can raise families...and live their lives. The Bible does not teach hate. Hate the sin, not the sinner. God loves everyone despite their sins like homosexuality. Homosexuality in humans is not something God created. There's no proof people are born gay, so for all intents and purposes it's a choice.

I am a true Christian, and I will say right now that Christians ARE NOT taught to hate. Whoever says so is a liar. Those so called Christians who teaches their children to hate ARE NOT Christians at all. I don't know what they are, but they're not Christians. True Christians are taught to love everyone and everything no matter their differences, we're taught to give with a giving heart, and we're taught to look out for everyone and anyone, no matter their race, religion, and other affiliations. GOD is love, not hate.

I agree Christianity doesn't preach hated. However, you have no say on who's a true Christian and who isn't. It's God who judges our heart. Rather, I'd say those who do not practice what the Bible teaches are instead "poorly and sadly uninformed""

So true, but America is full of evil, sadly. We can only pray that God opens everyone's eyes soon, or we'll all be doomed. I agree, most conservatives are bigots, but some aren't, thankfully. And isn't it sad? How the younger generation is accepting of others, while the older generations are not? It comes to show that wisdom comes in all ages.

the golden rule is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", or there abouts.....and was around before the bible. In fact, the earliest record of it is in the writings of Confucius, 500 BC. And if you think that those who wrote the Bible didn't have an agenda, you need to go to more bible studies. It would be insane to assume that they did not have a deeper goal, when you think about who could read and write. It was hardly written for the common man or by the common man.

You have got it sadly wrong. The Bible doesn't tell us to hate anyone. It tells us to LOVE our enemies. However the problem of humanity is SIN. God hates sin, and will judge it. That is why Jesus came, to forgive sins.

So it's not a matter of hating the sodomites, it's a matter of hating sin. The bible says, be ye angry and do NOT sin. Whether it's premarital sex, whether it's cussing, stealing, murder, lying, coveting, sexual immorality, homosexuality, dishonoring parents, hating, jealousy, envy, greed, no matter what sin, we are to REPENT (as it goes against a Holy God, and to believe the gospel, and so enter into God's rest and forgiveness).

Continuation in any sin, shows a rebellious heart, and a heart not right with the Lord.
That is why one must be born again by the power of the Holy Spirit, where God makes a sinner who was once dead in sin, spiritually alive. There is no differentiation in sin.

Sin is sin, and we are to repent and put out faith and trust in the finished work of Jesus.

I'm gay and was raised by women. I can't help it honestly, i just dont find women attractive and I've been denying myself when ever i thought of men as a mate, and attempted for 14 or so years to make myself enjoy women. I just can't though, a person likes what they like and a huge part of Christianity is to be as close to Jesus as we can, WWJD? Jesus wouldnt shun me for being gay, he was kind and compassionate. I'm not giving into a sin by being gay, i just can't help it. I've read so much stuff reassuring that i may go to hell for this and I am torn! I love God, I've been raised a christian with very powerful morals. I just don't know what to believe in :(

Yes people change but God never changes! (Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.) And (Malachi 3:6: "I the LORD do not change.) What he said then, he is still saying now.

This Bible is the Word of God! (2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,) and (2 Peter 1:20-21 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.)
And no one said anything about having homosexuals, I love them, but I don’t love their sin. If you are a homosexual Christian and you know what you are doing is a sin, (1 Corinthians 6:9Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,) wouldn’t you try to stop sinning? You can’t enter heaven of you don’t repent of your sins. Yes all sin is equal in God’s eyes, but as every Christian, we have to ask for forgiveness of our sin and stop doing it. (Gal 2:17 But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we also were found to be sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Let it not be said!)

Actually, homosexual acts were known in biblical times. It's even mentioned in Genesis, the beginning of the Bible. Ancient Greeks and Romans also practiced homosexuality. It was deemed okay in pagan and secularism, never Christianity. Also, it doesn't matter what the world thinks, it matters what God thinks. Saying homosexuality is wrong may not be politically correct, but politics are far from being the expert on morals, and God's word is always fair and just.

@Dadidcottrell. God has standards? One is homosexuality - what nonsense - there are parts in the bible that says you can rape an underage girl which is fine as long as you marry her after. And Jesus had a prostitute oil him and said she was as worthy as any of us. You will never understand that you have to love all before you can love yourself - that is Chris!s teachings

If God is love why do many of his followers have the least to give? The Bible speaks more of acceptance and individuality than these right wing, red neck ignorants that cannot find love in their hearts. In my life I love and don't inforce my beliefs on anyone - allow your fellow man to do the same. Take the most important lesson from Jesus, treat others lilke you would like to be treated - be kind, be loving and forgive. Peace to all people everywhere. Love xxxxx

Of course God loves gays - he loves all things - thankfully he is better than all of us - we may be in his own image, perhaps, but we havent got close to his love yet - we have yet to appreciate and spread this fundamental message of love and respect - it is what the Bible teaches us. Followers of Jesus must be like him - he sat down with prostitutes to show that all are worthy and welcome in his house. Funny thing is what he couldn't bear was the money lenders - that's just where we are now. The truth is that Jesus would be appalled with this sort of hatred and if he comes back I expect it will be one of the things on the top of his list to quash, along with racism and the white male than runs this Earth; the very people who spout hated in his name. Perhaps Mr J will be female next and shake things up! btw the eye is evolution. I should mention that I am a white male and straight and believe in the teachings of Christ

All I know is that God does say it is an abomination and a sin. I'm gay. And um really I just think the bible spreads hate. Look a bunch of people are arguing. You do realize that this book is spreading us apart. The bible made people interpret it differently. Thust making different religions. The different religions ENFORCE their believes on everyone they can. MAny children are FORCED to go to church and practice this. There were wars because of different religions. People died. I don't think any God worthy of rulling our world would do anything like that to us. He should spread love not hate. At the end of the day lying, being jealous, envious is a sin. and we all have at some point in our lives. So I'll see ya up there xDD lol. All i know is that if I go to hell for if I am judged by god for being homosexual next to Murderers, and rapists. I would rather not have been born.

I say this with the upmost respect. Its clear that you have lived your life deceived and have no foundation to stand on. Stand for nothing and you will fall for anything. The wiset man who ever lived king Solomon said it best;as a person thinks in his heart so is he( prov23:7)you have to believe in the Bible to understand it and you have to love the God whom it was written by. Scripture tells us that each of us have two natures, carnal and spiritual. The flesh is carnal and it disobeys and rebels, the spiritual side is given to us when we surrender to God to change us on the inside.whichever nature we feed that one will grow stronger and determines what will become. Every choice changes us. That's why he gave us free will. God is not to blame people's choices are, god doesn't allow anything! And as far as being gay that was your choice. Not here to judge you all I'm saying is if you know right from wrong, why choose to do wrong?

I am a Christian. I will give you my perspective, if that helps. You are correct, God does love the gay man or gay women. If a gay person acts civil and tries to do no harm to his neighbors and is a good citizen that is to his/her credit. However, God does have standards and one among many sins is that of homosexuality. I didn't write the rules so it's not up to my opinion on the matter. However, 'gay bashing' or other overt acts against homosexuals is equally wrong. God will judge sin in any form. If you read the bible sometime you'd see that after Jesus stopped the people from stoning the women caught in the act of adultery he told her to leave that life of sin. Jesus wants to correct your attitudes and ultimately your behavior. Jesus, however cannot cover over sin for he, as his father, is holy.

1 Corinthians 6:9 clearly states that homosexuals, among other sinful natures like adulterers and drunkards, will not inherit the Kingdom of God. A "gay" is not a type of person. Homosexuality is not a noun, it is a verb, it is an action, it is something somebody does. A black person is a type of person, a woman is a type of person, a homosexual is a person who practices homosexuality. God did not create gays just like He did not create poligamists.

Doesn't the bible SPECIFICALLY say you cannot add or remove any words from it? Yeah I recall it does, that means times change, the BIBLE DOES NOT. God doesn't judge homosexuals? Last time I checked not only does he forbid it, he also calls it an abomination, perhaps you should read a bible before you talk about it. It's pretty common though for liberals to have no idea what they are talking about. King James Bible
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. SEE THAT? ABOMINATION, look the word up in a dictionary liberal.

God doesn't punish homosexuality? Ask a ghost from Sodom and Gomorrah what God does to homosexuals. No, I don´t think God punishs homosexuality. Jesus Christ (the name "Christians" came up here btw) taught love, acceptance and peaceful togetherness. That´s the second part of the Bible. The Old testament is (partly ) hateful and violent.

All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9 )

If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 )

The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: 'Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever. It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.' (Exodus 31:12-15 )

-->That´s why i believe in the New Testament and not the old. I believe in a loving and forgiving God. My opinion is neither dangerous nor stupid. i´ve always been an A-student at RE (and YES this is thaught in my school since you are 6 years old.)

RV, well put. I would just add that Jesus died on the cross so as to provide forgiveness for our sins. If one 'dies' to self and 'lives' for Christ then the law no longer has any power over him/her. But without acceptance of Jesus' atonement on the cross and Him as personal savior and lord, the judgment and penalty for all sin, including those you mentioned above, remain.

It's all about interpretation. With what you've quoted I'd take that you interpret it as gays bad but lesbians ok? But in the end it does not matter, as Christians are specifically told NOT to JUDGE. So just let the sinners (of all types) live their lives as they see fit. Salvation is personal and I doubt this God is petty enough to care about orientation. Sure there may be a verse in the bible about that but I highly doubt the bible survived the ages without modifications or "corrections" as the translator understood it. especially when translating from a different language.
