Just returned from my weekly grocery shopping and it's ridiculous, they say it will be higher in the coming months.

What's a family to do?

we find that if you shop at various places instead of getting all your groceries at one store it can work out cheaper

Except for eating more fruits and vegetables that aren't dependent on growing in the Midwest. Meat prices will be high because pork, beef, and chicken rely on corn.

Two major factors that Obama could have controlled--high fuel by opening up drilling and stopping the mandated 40% of corn to go to bio-fuel--he did neither which means he really does not care about the poor and middle class

Use coupons, shop at places like Aldi's, Marc's or other markets that have discounts, shop at local farmer's markets, learn to can or preserve foods, buy in bulk and store the surplus for later use.

I try to do that too but I live in a small town and our stores are spread far apart, shopping around means more money in the gas tank.

    All of the above . . .
I believe this is by design!!
    Using food production for fuel!!
Every little bit you can grow for consumption will be of help.
Beans .... lots and lots of beans.

Methane has been proven to be a higher concentrated form of green house gasses than carbon dioxide. Are you SURE you want all of us to eat more beans? :-p

All of the above and grow your own in co-ops etc. It will help some and avoid over processed stuff which has had lots of handlers so lots of costs passed on. Dry beans, rice, large cuts of meat that can be partially frozen (someone today was offering a free stand up freezer on my FB).

become more competitive and get paid more so the percentage of food cost is reduced.

I just buy more store brands. Of course, I've always bought mostly store brands, so my food bills haven't increased by much.

Prices are going to shoot right through the roof next year. There has been massive droughts and top that with extreme wet conditions also. The crop yields are massively down on a global wide expanse. So tighten your trouser belts we are in for a very meagre existence in relation to food and water supplies.

I would go as far as to predict the possibility of food and water rationing being a very live threat.

Yes and it is worsening too..Odumbass should of stopped ethanol production and use the corn for only food after the drought!!
