I am an RN.. had flu shot once only because it was mandatory for work.. 24 years an RN, flu shot once, flu once... the year I got that damnedable shot.

i got the flu shot once, and i had a really bad allergic reaction to it and i had the flu because of it. And now, docs keep pushing me to get it, and i tell them to kiss my ass, because ever since then, i dont get the flu.

Had the flu in the 70s and in the summer of 2001. It's a stipulation of my current position to have the shot and five thousand (slight exaggeration) other vaccinations.

Usually the vaccine works for me, but I got the flu this year anyways. Today I counted up how many flu shots I've given so far this flu season and it was 450!

This year's standard flu shot has proven "68%" effective. I paid for a more inclusive version, but no flu shot covers all strains. Most people who get the shot will eventually, some year, still get a strain of the flu. It's all in the science.

I've only had the flu shot once and that was during the 2009 H1N1 epidemic. I've never gotten the flu, though. I rarely get sick, but if I do, I recover quickly.

Getting a flu shot almost doubles the chance of getting cancer according to Lankes and colleagues.

In a new study at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University, Lankes found that a single flu shot at any time alters the immune system in such a away that it increases the risk of cancer.

Receipt of a flu shot increases the risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma by 53%, follicular lymphoma by 98% percent, and diffuse large B cell lymphoma by 88%.

It is unclear whether receiving regular annual flu shots under the CDC’s recommended schedule further compounds the risk of cancer over a single dose influenza jab."

I'm 66 have never had a flu shot nor have I had the flu. You need to look into who is making the flu shots. its a big money making scam.

I was just thinking that! It doesnt seem to matter much if you do, or not. And, most of the time...those I know, like me, who've never gotten one, tend to be those who've never had it!

I have had the flu maybe three or four times in the last 50 years. I don't like the reaction I get from the flu shot so I don't get it. However people do die, so if one shot saves one person I am all for it. My flu shot costs me nothing through my Insurance, and the Government other than the CDC could care less. It is outside manufacturers that make the money on pharmaceuticals

I got a Flu Shot because my Doctor tricked me into taking it; when it wore-off in early spring, I caught the Flu. BTW, Doctors suck now days. The Flu IS NOT a Virus. Unless you are a Spider; you can't have your Digestive Tract & Respiratory Tract functioning by the exact same Internal Organs. The dumbass Doctors now days don't know any better, It's Influenza NOT a Viral Infection. We are NOT Arachnida!! They love that $$$$! They think that there's something sacred about a virus. They are full of it (NPI).

I haven't had the flu shot as i rarely get the flu.I just ended up with the flu last week and it sure knocked me on my butt for a few days.

Last time i got the flu was in high school (1971).

While in the Air Force I learned to take "oreganol p73" because I was told it was good for every cold, bug and virus that goes around................... and they were right, it works, because i have not got the flu, or any cold since 1975!

Sister, I love you but it doesn't fit the profile. Propaganda would try to get you to do something or buy something. What is the agenda of scientists who discover a link between the flu shot and cancer? To NOT sell you a shot? To make you get the flu so they can sell you cough medicine?

At your age I wouldn't worry about it plus it CAN give you the flu though that's rare. It's really more for young children and senior adults. My father gets one every year as a precaution. I've never had one but I have had the flu several times over the years. It's a pain, mostly cold chills with a fever but usually only lasts a day or two.

I had the Hong Kong Flu in 1968. It killed some 50,000 people......the flu is awful and if you've never had it you're very lucky......I get the flu shot every year and have for many years....so far so good......I understand it has been 50 to 60% successful in preventing the flu.....the flu shot is relative cheap....and is well worth not risking getting the flu.......although I do think timing is everything....it has to be in your system for 2 weeks I understand to be protected......this year the flu season came early........some that got the shot supposedly still got the flu......
