Hm, it's a rag and some noise...and you have issues with which noise is made. Well, I can see where your priorities lie. They certainly don't lie in helping those in extreme poverty...the environmental issues around your own country...neither do they lie in advancing your countries technologies in science and medicine.

Which is more important. The American way of life or the American Flag? That might be too complicated. Which is more important. "Life" or "Inanimate Objects"...

Now what does Christianity say about worshipping inanimate objects. "Thou shalt have no other god before me..."

There are enough of us who still take pride in the heritage of our flag & national anthem that they won't be able to take them away! But hey let them try then we will know who America's enemies are!

There are not enough liberal assh*les in the country to take away the flag and I don't think our Anthem is in trouble either.

The flag isn't the country, the constitution or the people -Neither is that crappy song.

It's part of our culture. It's part of our history. Do you think the French would get rid of La Marseillais which reflect their revolution? Do you think that Mexico would get rid of Diez y Seiz? Nations are built on their history for good or bad. Maybe you should find somewhere else to live. I promise you that it's not as easy as you think economically, legally or personally.

I don't care if people worship the flag or burn it. The flag means nothing to me and you can't force me to worship it.

I'm not asking you to "worship" it. I am asking you to respect it as you would a flag from any other nation.

I don't care about symbols. They hold no sacred place in my life. If somebody wants to worship or burn their flag it makes no difference to me, I won't be impressed or bothered.

So out of curiosity, do you own Mac and think they are better than PC's, do you seek Nike clothing brands, do you drink bad coffee at Starbucks? Branding is nothing more than symbolism. And people who are what they call "label whores" are little more than commercial zealots. Pick your religion.

Personally I think America would have faired much better under Japanese rule, however there are many ideals that do not agree with the American way of life...like self restraint, dignity... calling them brutal just because they're different...

Go educate yourself...actually that's dangerous... head to your nearest university and ask them to educate you.

head to SE Asian and find a few who lived through the Japanese occupation and ask them about brutality. You're reading too many books, when you can get first hand accounts if you are really interested.

I live in the UK who's Monarch holds the same status as the Emperor of Japan has held since the Tokugawa Shogunate. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II rules by divine right ordained through the Church of England (since Henry VIII dissolved the Vatican's power in the UK...all because he couldn't get divorced).

Did I ever say the Japanese were giving up? No. Did that warrant the use of Nukes? No. As far as I'm aware, Pearl Harbour was a tragic accident at least that's conclusion I came to after seeing the evidence put forward by American Historians.

I do support every countries Sovereign right to defend itself... however nukes are not defending quite clearly. Nukes are wiping out indiscriminately hundreds of thousands of civilians. If my country was being invaded would I snipe the aggressors? Yes.
