Los Angeles is set to host its first annual L.A. Fried Chicken Festival. The festival will take place in Beverly Hills towards the end of August. Celeb chefs will be in attendance, cookin' up their favorite fried bird. How do you feel about fried chicken?

Wouldn't it be great if there were an entire food festival devoted to fried chicken? A place where you could indulge freely in golden brown, crispy pieces of chicken? That's the idea behind the first annual Los Angeles Fried Chicken Fest, coming Sunday, Aug. 26, in Beverly Hills.

I am the Bubba Gump of the Chicken world. I eat chicken everyway possible, except raw. Just like Bubba, I can name hundreds of ways to eat chicken.

I like southern fried chicken, where you soak it in buttermilk the night before. Then bread it and fry it the next day. mmmmmmm mmmmm mmmmm!

I haven't eaten fried chicken since I worked at a fried chicken restaurant back in high school and if you saw what I did you probably wouldn't either. It didn't matter if it and gone bad and had a green hue to it or had been dropped on the floor...cook it in the 400 degree oil and it'll be fine was the owners attitude.

What's your point? Every restaurant is like that. Plus, as you say, hose it off and toss it in 400 degree oil and it kills all germs.

I never said they hosed it off before tossing it in the pressure cooker and would you serve chicken that's obviously gone bad to your children?

And despite your claim not every restaurant is like that, I went into restaurant management when I was in my early twenties and helped a franchise owner open up five new restaurants with much higher standards than the owner of the fried chicken place. If you dropped something on the floor and picked it up and still cooked it you'd have been fired.

Sorry Pistol Pete but you just threw up a brick with that reply, didn't even hit the rim.

Especially how HOT our summers have been this year! :) Enjoy and have fun! By the way, when I was stationed in Ft. Hood, Texas, I'd love those HUGE watermelons at the farmers market! Everything is BIG in TEXAS. But I do miss those delicious BBQ RIBS and BEEF BRISKETS. Us Yankees up North know NOTHING about BBQ. Man, I miss them ribs. And the Tex-Mex food. And those late night "WHATABURGER" runs! Mmmm.... good food! Now I'm hungry!

Ya'll ain't got no BBQ joints up north?
BBQ is sure popular here, everybody does BBQ. Our Tex-Mex is good, it all depends on which part of Texas your in. Watermelon is something I love in the summer. My friend poured some liquor in her melon and let it set awhile, it was still real good and icy cold after sitting in the fridge soaking up booze for hours.
