Feminists claim there is a woman raped every 2 minutes in America. Do you believe this?

I don't know if that's true or not. If it is, it's a really sad reflection on 'society' in general and men in particular!!
However, I am always rather skeptical of the accuracy of such 'facts' as these-especially as in this case it is originating apparently from a group of people-'feminists'-who could quite conceivably be seen as having some sort of vested interest in stating such a fact:
    i.e. all men are bastards...!!

Maybe. A lot of variables in those numbers though. How many of those rapes were women who felt remorse afterwards for the "one night stand". I do not deny that a lot of rapes do occur, but there is a percentage of false accusations that is included in these numbers that later turn out to be false, if the guy is VERY lucky. Nobody takes the guys side in ANY of these situations.

The truth is that the majority of rapes are not reported to police at all.

For a woman who's raped I can't say enough for what a sad and shameful act it is . When a woman is raped I wish she would report it so maybe it can be stopped and the vile rapist gets caught .

That would be a start. But the way women are still treated by police and society it will probably not happen.

It is very sad. One of my best friends was raped in high school by an ex boyfriend. After she was finished being interrogated by the police she went home to her family and her father beat her with a belt. I still remember that clearly as she came over to my place afterwards. She was more bruised by her father than by the man who raped her.

Rape is horrible and should never be tolerated in any way shape or form. Does a group focused on villainizing men skew the numbers a bit? Probably. However, this is a sin to which I cannot stomach, and abhor it so much that it makes me ill to think of it. Remember though, the perpetrators are men and women. The victims are men and women, boys and girls. No toleration in any case!

The real truth is that the majority of rapes never get reported to the police at all. Women to NOT want their privacy invaded nor do they want to go through a public investigation or trial.

I could understand every two minutes WORLD WIDE.... but in America? I seriously doubt it. But then, how can any of us really say for sure? I read some where that there are now so many people on Earth that, statistically speaking, anything humanly possible you can imagine, someone, somewhere, is doing it.

All that being said, I don't think the frequency of rape effects how serious of a crime it is.

Gee! I wish the questioner was literate enough to provide some text documenting this question. Revealing who made the claim, when, and where is a good start.

The poster of the question is an anti-feminist and anti-female in general and has very little education as well.

He has said this is from a feminist site. It is not

A man should never force himself on a woman under any circumstances, but I admit this statistic seems a little high.

are they counting age of consent laws? like a 20 year old man with his 16 year old girlfriend? If so, then im not suprised........i think that should not be included because its rather "iffy" and most of those types of charges are brought about by no understanding parents, in some cases. of course, not all in the case of forced rape. But if it happens 2, 3, 4 5 6 times, etc....between the same couple......hard to say that its really rape or forced in my mind....(unless the persons being held hostage or something)...its really consentual.

Agreed - as a nurse who had a brief stint in the health dept. I saw women as young as 12 getting birth control pills and they often admitted the men they were with were over 18. Sad, but if you ever get pregnant at that age - because of the abortion laws - you are considered an emancipated minor - so it get's dicey from a legal perspective
