If someone loses their woman because they lost their job then they are probably better off without them imo.

Wait a minute now Caedus, John said that , or at least that's what it seemed like he was implying, not me. Me personally, I don't think there is much difference between women....period! They're all neurotic ! Skin tone be damned !

Hey, I'll tell you like I told cad, I didn't say that, I was just cutting to the meat of Johns post, which he seems like he was trying to tip toe around. But he has a right to his opinion, good bad or ugly!

Hey I will take the heat, I am and old guy but I came from the projects so saw it with my own eyes, people want to be PC but facts are facts without the sugar coating. Maybe today it is different I can only speak from personal paradigms.
However I can say my wife has always been by my side through 27 jobs. I have had so many layoffs I was a professional job seeker, LOL

But it isn't PC, because what you stated wasn't a fact and never has been. Just stating that before I move on.

I won't debate what you perceive but being 42 years older than you I have seen it a bit different, we will agree to disagree and leave it at that.

LOL ! you're right, the term "fact" does get tossed around liberally lately. I don't know why folks block on soda head so quickly, surely, you can't think a million folks using this site are gonna agree with you on EVERYTHING !
Yeah, I found John's post quite....insightful, but like I told Latrice and Caedus, opinions are free, and he is as entitled as the rest of us ! Peace out Ty !

My Brother is a loan officer, Ive heard so many stories from him about people he knows who are in the Real Estate business and Clients who have lost their Jobs and their Wives walk out the door soon after. My Brothers Wife also left him after the money stopped coming in.

My Brother knows these Two Brothers who inherited a lot of property from their Father. Financially they were doing very well for themselves. When Real Estate took a dive they eventually lost everything along with their wives who were used to a high life style.

Another Guy my brother knows lost his high paying job and he was barley hanging on. He decided to refinance his house and called my Brother. After my brother started going through his finances he notice money being moved around and property changing hands. Come to find out it was his Wife. My Brother informed the guy of this and told him "I think your wife is getting ready to leave you." The guy didn't believe him and said "My wife loves me, she would never leave me." A few months later she was out the door with everything he had.

No money, No women. Thats just the way it works

Been with my husband through a number of job losses,, even before we were married.

You find a good guy, you hang on... especially in the hard times.

That's the difference between playing grown up and being a grown up.

I have never fought about money, and I never will fight about money, with my significant other...
I'm sure some women would leave a man simply for being jobless, but breakups happen for other reasons, too, which only coincidentally come to a head after a job loss.
for example, the guy who is too lazy to go get another job and sits on his ass doing nothing all day, is also not helping with the housework, or the kids, but is probably contributing significantly to the breakdown of discipline, and mess...
or the guy who keeps losing his jobs because he drinks too much or does drugs, meaning he misses work all the time, or punches out the boss, or a co-worker, or a customer because he had a hangover and "lost it" probably is going to eventually "lose it" with his girlfriend too...
or the philanderer who gets fired because he was caught banging the boss's wife on the boss's desk...
or, most tragically, ;p the guy who's viagra was paid for by his work health care plan...

point is, don't be a loser, and it doesn't muchmatter if you're out of a job for a while, but if you are a loser, yeah, that countdown might just be ticking

Sadly, there are women who do that but that's not a good woman. Seems too many people don't truly mean their vows when they say them...For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer. If someone leaves their spouse solely based on them becoming unemployed, they were never committed to their husband...they were committed to their husband's wallet. Sure, finances cause stress but I couldn't imagine income being a deciding factor in marriage. My husband and I have done a lot of struggling, but we've struggled TOGETHER because we're united and dedicated to each other no matter how rough things get.

Of course, I wouldn't take that statement too seriously from Chris Rock. He most likely knows that's not the way it is with every woman. I have known some guys who've thought all women are like that and that probably just goes to show the caliber of women they've had in their lives (or their father's attitude toward women...which was the case of one friend of mine who grew up thinking all women were gold digging wh***s but has since changed his mind).

Well, it depends. But if she only stayed with me because I had money, I don't know that I'd be too sad about her leaving. Of course, you shouldn't leech off of her, either.

Actually both. You can lose your job, but you had better find something, even if it's half the pay. Sitting around and moping doesn't get it done. Good women will stay if your trying. If you don't have a good woman, it doesn't really matter.

Not if you're with a good lady. No woman should do that. I'd be happy to say bye to anyone like that if they would really leave me for that reason! Don't stand for that crap. I'd rather be without a superficial girl expecting a man to make all the cash and spoil her (I mean, if I were a guy.)
