When your company has 800 million users, its success kind of speaks for itself. But the social networking giant Facebook also has its fair share of haters. In fact, Facebook ranks as the most hated company on the 10 Most Hated Companies in America published by 24/7 Wall St.

Facebook made its initial public offering (IPO) of stock last month. The offering and pricing had negative backlash and critics bad-mouthed the company for weeks. Mark Zuckerberg has done amazing things to grow the company and its revenues, but critics complain that the young CEO does little to publicly inspire his company's new shareholders.

Sometimes people will just hate popular and successful trends. The internet has a meme for that: Haters Gonna Hate. Is that the case for Facebook?

247WALLST.COM reports:
Facebook currently has more than 800 million users. Any company of this size is sure to have some detractors. Compared to other leading social media sites, however, Facebook has the lowest customer satisfaction score from the American Customer Satisfaction Index.

I have no account and never will. A friend of mine has become antisocial. He sits on his phone at the bar and communicates over his Facebook account. I just stare and laugh.

I love Facebook. But every major social network had people hating, talking crap about it. That's the way things are.

I imagine it's about the stuff other than Facebook itself. If people were really that dissatisfied with it as a social networking site, there would be less people on the site...
Then again, no matter how "bad" Facebook is, there is nothing quite like it now that people have decided MySpace is not "cool".

I actually don't know what this answer means but I do not blame FB for failing in privacy, nor to I applaud their random updates and changing unbroken things. So I sit in the middle and wonder WHY THE HELL do people put their adresses and phone numbers on their Facebook profile!
I mean really, WHY! My email account was hacked once and via that my Facebook and since I have only got real actual tangible friends in the main section with my media and hobbygroup networks tucked neatly away, I was terrified my nieces and nephews would have their info stolen thanks to them in their all teenage wisdom putting EVERYTHING up "just in case someone needed to contact them".

I don't even use my real name. THIS isn't my real name. WHY would you make your FB public and then post so much info on yourself?? It's not FB's fault, it's YOURS!

They all grumble about it, but the fact remains, Facebook has around 800 million users world-wide, most of them in the US and Canada. So apparently, we don't hate Facebook as much as the surveys claim we do.

It's a fad a few years ago "oh you don't have a Facebook and you don't wear (insert popular name brand at time), you loser". Now "oh you don't have a twitter, instagram, or whatever the hell is out there (haven't made any new account because I'm done with the fad social networks) and you don't wear (insert popular name brand) you loser" Point is I'm a loser and this is just the way things go

The lack of privacy isn't Facebooks fault. It's the fault of the idiots who post so much personal information on there. The internet is supposed to be a tool for anonymity. Maybe the hate isn't so much Facebook as the people on there. They are so addicted to it. Nobody cares about what you did today. No one gives a crap about your status. We aren't interested if we were in the same grade together, you oblivious attention whores! Everyone in the world who thinks the world revolves around them, lives on Facebook.

I think you'll loose in you hopes. He seems to be very smart, to be unaffected by the money aspects, and smiles from within. He very well could become the Bill Gates of his generation and use his wealth for wonderful human purposes some of which he's already doing. He sure doesn't spend his time creating silly pictures and spewing venom.

I know that there are ways to make your profile "hidden" from others, but a lot of people don't think about putting that feature on their account until something happens to it. I have so many friends who have had their Facebook accouts hacked. one of my friends had it happen 2 or 3 times. all I am saying is Facebook need a better security system.

The fact that Facebook doesn't inform you when there are changes in your privacy settings, whether you changed them or some action you or Facebook did changed them is maddening. Especially when you set your profile to private specifically so that others couldn't see the moments and events of your life unless you allowed them to.

I filled out an application the other day and the company had the NERVE to ask on the application what social media do I use (Check Facebook, Myspace, etc etc, etc) I was disgusted. This whole social media thing is out of control. and there is no telling who is viewing your page. I never was a fan of it, and I rarely use it.

Never have signed up or used facebook™. Same with Twitter™. I don't make tweets. Sorry. Both have ZERO appeal to me. Seriously, I have worked hard to not plaster myself all over the internet. It's creepy and dangerous. Most of all i keep my name off the internet.

Here is one of my posts on yahoo questions that yahoo deleted and somebody stole and has it now posted on their website claiming it as their own. I get quoted and ripped off allot online...

Do only smart people NOT have a FACEBOOK™ account?

I was reading this article on the internet called "The Facebook Troll – The "ULTIMATE" Guide."
I have never been interested in "MySpace", "Facebook" "Twitter" or any other internet website forum where you plaster your name and photos all over the internet, and give daily update alerts on when you took your last bowel movement.

Possible employers are now scanning facebook and other like minded sites for incriminating evidence such as political views, personal habits, lifestyle choices and other insights as to why they should or should not hire you.

The FBI, NSA, TSA and CIA use these sites to input faces into a government facial recognition database to locate criminals and scan the faces of law abiding citizens that my commit future crimes at a later date caught on CCTV, due to the things they say, the foods they eat and the place where they take their vacation.

When myspace came around "smart people" already knew what was coming. "Smart people" avoided such sites like the plague, and giggled at those who didn't. Then came facebook and twitter.

Nobody with half a brain cell thought this was a good idea. "Smart people" saw it's negative potential and immediately knew it for what it was. An Intrusion into the privacy of everyday citizens and it's Orwellian "thought crime" potential.

The US Government, like any government will always work outside of the framework of laws and individual liberty.
"Liberal" and "Conservative" propaganda has brain-washed average people into thinking less privacy, especially when given at free will, is more. They have convinced "dumb people" into thinking the "one" party system is actually "two." (left/right)

There will always be those not so bright persons who ask questions like... If you have nothing to hide why would you object to granny sharing photos with her loved ones on facebook?

To those people, you are too stupid to understand and answer this question in the first place.
