When your company has 800 million users, its success kind of speaks for itself. But the social networking giant Facebook also has its fair share of haters. In fact, Facebook ranks as the most hated company on the 10 Most Hated Companies in America published by 24/7 Wall St.

Facebook made its initial public offering (IPO) of stock last month. The offering and pricing had negative backlash and critics bad-mouthed the company for weeks. Mark Zuckerberg has done amazing things to grow the company and its revenues, but critics complain that the young CEO does little to publicly inspire his company's new shareholders.

Sometimes people will just hate popular and successful trends. The internet has a meme for that: Haters Gonna Hate. Is that the case for Facebook?

Facebook currently has more than 800 million users. Any company of this size is sure to have some detractors. Compared to other leading social media sites, however, Facebook has the lowest customer satisfaction score from the American Customer Satisfaction Index.

facebook used to be the best for privacy. but now i cant hide my stuff like i used to without friending them then putting them on a restricted list or simply blocking them. but i cant friend/block every single facebook user in the world just to keep my privacy!

i move alot, and all of my friends are on FB. so in order for me to be able to keep in contact with my friends, i have to put the stuff on fb, but my problem is that i dont want someone who i dont know to be able to see all my likes, who my friends are, where i live, who my family is etc. all because i cant change the privcy settings. i post the information because i want to share it with my friends and my friends alone, not a creepy stalker.

You can control all of that, adjust your privacy settings...I know it's a pain in the butt, but you do have control.

I only have a FB account cuz my kids want to share grandkid photos. If they would go back to zipping their albums and/or mailing a DVD I'd stop using FB! I just upload 23 photos of my vacation so they could see them... they can't. I can't just change my album to "friends" so they can see them... I have to log each photo twice... once to upload, then go into FB and change each share setting one photo at a time... multiple clicks for each. I hate it!

I laugh at people who complain about lack of privacy. Nobody is forcing you to be on a website that puts out information that YOU UPLOADED.

I do not understand why people would want to be on face book in the first place, if you want to write to your friends use your e-mail and say what you want this is the most private way. When you really think about face book, it is crap from lonely people who like to snoop on people and some people like their games and the biggest part is playing with lonely stupid people. The smallest part that is good about it is; to get some people back together after years of lost friends but this is very minimum! If you like to broadcast you life; stay on face book!

I honestly don't hate facebook, I don't love it and am not nearly obsessed with it, but I don't hate it. And as for the lack of privacy, it honestly depends on your settings I think and whether or not you have a good internet server.

Don't know. I like facebook. Easiest way to connect with people you know or once knew. Easiest way to connect with brands, and get something out of it... like answers to questions, freebies, coupons etc.

If you wanted privacy you would just not post certain things on Facebook, instead people complain about being stalked and how everyone knows their business. If you want privacy delete your Facebook and go back to calling and telling people about your day. Simple.

Their is no such thing as "privacy" on Facebook. Everything and everyone you like, post, click, share unlike, comment, friend, De-friend, I.M, message, (You get the point.) Is logged and never is nor ever will be deleted. Even if you deleted your account everything you post every picture and video you uploaded will forever be in their system. Facebook also sells your information to 3rd parties and also uses pictures of you (and other photos that you posted/uploaded) for ads and such.

Facebook wants to know EVERYTHING about EVERYONE for their own gain and also to give the information to the United States government. I'm not going into detail about why the United States government wants the same info like Facebook because either you'll think it's all just a "conspiracy" or you think it's for "safety/security".

I had a stakler on face book he would NOT LEAVE ME ALONE! i didnt give him any details of me and he is on every day doing this ----> O_O gosh i had to many stalkers thats why i QUITED! they wont leave me alone :(

I don't hate it I just feel it's a waste of time. What can I do with Facebook that I can't do with my cell phone and/or email? I had an account for 1 week a few years ago and I found it so pointless, I haven't been back.

I think it is a lazy way of keeping in contact with "friends" and family...De personalizes communication from a "one on one" intimate communication to something akin to a newspaper reading.

Thats not really fair. I get that it's not as personal as really being one on one with family or really close friends, but I don't see why people shouldn't use it to stay in contact with acquaintances or friends they wouldn't normally stay in contact with. If anything, it helps a little bit more, if you can quickly set up high school reunion on facebook, for example.

haven't had mine, but i was just using an example - but i get what you mean. However, facebook isn't meant to be some sort of dating site, where you form permanent relationships - it's just meant to supplement your social life, not completely replace it.
