    tags are stupid

Honestly, I find myself less and less inclined to be on facebook. I have most of my high school on there now and it just reminds me how I'm glad I'm not there anymore. Internet needs to get back to its roots: porn.

At least I hope so. Too much attention is paid to people's self-perceived celebrity using this medium - like anyone really cares about your holiday snaps or pictures of you doing something stupid!

Maybe. Facebook appears to have reached its peak at the time of the IPO. I think that many people avoided signing up because of concerns for privacy, and those concerns are growing.

Yup - I flatly refuse to sign up for these very reasons.

You are so right. There privacy policy is a joke and FB skirts the law at every corner.

Facebook can do better if they would reform the way they do things and listen to the users.

They are not interested in what the users want. They make money from the businesses advertising based upon users profile and internet traffic patterns.

I definitely do agree with you on FB's priorities in their view. That's part of the problem though (the advertising model). There's only one reason I installed Ad Blocker on my browser & it's because of the sharply mistargeted (some to the point of being offensive) ads on FB plus their disregard to the ad feedback they solicit when a ad gets X'd out.

Facebook do have the potential do be worth something, they just need to transform the website to a "one-stop website". Monetize off of the new online gambling laws as well.

It would be no great loss if Facebook disappeared completely. It has become a venue that permits boring people to inflict their uninteresting lives on the rest of humanity.

IPO is initial public offering. It's when a company goes public on the stock market to raise money.

Depends on how you look at it. All the talk I heard was that it was way overpriced. Under 10 bucks should have been the $. So is it in a decline or is it just moving to its correct position?

I think they've overdone the "upgrades" and changes on the site. Too many friend swaps, too much information required to get to where you want to go. Not enough simplicity in operation. That's just my personal opinion, but I rarely get on the site anymore, only if somebody sends me a direct message. And even then I don't always have an easy time finding what I'm supposed to be looking for.

Not in decline as much as over-saturated and over-hyped with old users getting tired of the commercialism, and I don't like FB at all.

Facebook faces competition. People have shifted to mobile, which Facebook hasn't yet figured out how to monetize.
