Facebook recently announced that when you visit a group, you can see who's viewed each post. They call it staying "up-to-date" on the group's activity. I call it a little creepy. What do you think?

I like Facebook, but I wish they'd stop making so many UNNECESSARY and invasive changes. Youtube is screwing up too, with all the advertisers crawling out of the woodworks.

They have no way of knowing if I actually read it or just skimmed the page. Either way it'd creepy to log into your Facebook account after a few months and see that your best friends boyfriend was reading your posts.

How do they do this? How do they determine who viewed it and who passed by it on their way to look at something else?

I use Facebook on a VERY, EXTREMELY limited basis. Facebook sucks old, rotten eggs that have baked in 110 degree heat...

...or it would be if it were true. Anyway, nobody's even on facebook anymore right? I mean from comments I see everywhere, it seems everybody hates everything facebook does, so obviously if you everybody hates this free service, they don't use it. Right?

    According to this:
    http://www.bizjournals.com/da...
Facebook is the Number 1 most visited social media site, with over 1 billion total visits worldwide. I understand the criticism, though. I don't like all the new changes they made.

Look, no they can't. They can't tell what conversations I gloss over and which ones I actually look at, unless I respond or "like" someone's comment.

I haven't done annything significant with my account in threee years other than keep in touch with overseas friends. My profile picture never changed and I would be happy to remove my account if it wasn't for the fact every girl my age (15) uses it for communication on group projects, fun events like birthday parties, ect.

Facebook has made many changes that I don't agree with. The timeline profile is probably the most hated change so far but they have forced it on all their users. They shouldn't make all changes mandatory and maybe they should just leave well enough alone and not keep tweeking something that wasn't broken in the first place.

As cool as it would be to see who's read your posts, it's creepy to think that everyone can see whether or not I've read a post. I don't like the whole "seen at [time]" thing on chat, either. As helpful as it is, it's not really helpful at all. There are many situations where facebook will register you've seen it even if you haven't, and then leaves your friends with the impression you're ignoring them.

facebook is getting creepier by the minute and frankly it is NOT worth it..it's total hype and it is very boring and a waste of time and people get mad if you supposedly "stalk" them but what is Facebook if not giving others permission to stalk you...duh! I mean people post EVERYTHING and then cry "hey i am being stalked" if you "like" their post or comment on their shared items...it's like someone getting a tattoo across their breasts and then wearing a low cut shirt and complaining that people keep staring at their boobs.. COME ON!

i rarely go there and one day i decided to stop in to see what was going on..i noticed that all the yahoo articles I had clicked on had been broadcast on my page!! I was pretty upset about that! That is not something I necessarily want to let people know I am doing.

Now I can know that no one cares what I have to say...then I can join Twitter for re-affirmation of that fact :)
