sheep farmer was puzzled about the disappearance of some sheep on
his farm. After a few weeks the farmer decided to put up an
electric fence.

a week later, this is what he found!

I know we've all heard of people being eaten by snakes & I bet
most of us have said, 'If a snake tried to eat me, I'd blah, blah,
blah & get away.'

this is a Python & they're extremely aggressive & have a
few teeth that they use to hold their prey while they wrap around
them & then constrict.

you get away if this one bit you & held on with it's

The wires are 10 inches apart.)

The everglades are one of our most important wetlands and these invasive species should have a bounty on them so when people encounter them they will be more willing to kill them and turn them in for them bounty. When brought into the US they should be implanted with an id chip ,like the ones we put in our pets. Then they can be tracked back to the turd that released them.

now thats a monster of a snake i wonder how long it is
  • TruBluTopaz 2012/06/16 18:24:52
Scary. I watched a show a couple of weeks ago discussion how these snakes were released during a hurricane and there's not a way to control them. There's no natural predators and Florida game wardens keep hoping for some really cold winters to diminish their numbers.

put a bounty on them and delare open season .

It looks like the electric fence was a real good idea.

Some constrictor skin boots would look real nice.

Florida has a horrible snake problem...from all the dumping of the ones coming in to this country in an illegal manner, or people letting them go when they become to big to handle..and they reproduce and give birth to many...It is a sad situation, and is upsetting the delicate ecological everglades system...Poor things are just trying to survive, but to the detriment of humans and other animals as well...This type of system may be the only way to lower their numbers, of course, other animals will get caught in this type of system as well..but something has to be done..
  • Kronan_1 2012/06/16 16:26:58
That's why I carry a knife everywhere I go. I at least want a fighting chance. Lately I've been going out at night to look for coyotes. I really want to fight one. Does that make me crazy?
  • Muver Kronan_1 2012/06/16 17:02:45
Yes, and cruel, they are not bothering you, leave them alone...it also makes you sound
psychotic...having a knife for protection from something that attacks you, is one thing,,,but your wanting to just kill an animal for no reason is just wrong and something is wrong with you.
  • Kronan_1 Muver 2012/06/17 14:29:50 (edited)
Nothing cruel about killing a pest. Do you think a mouse trap is cruel? How about I take a rifle and ambush the critter. At least fighting the coyote I give him a sporting chance. Coyote's are shot around here because they have become pests and chase the livestock and kill all the chickens. BTW I have always carried a pocket knife .I provides many services, protection being the least.
  • Muver Kronan_1 2012/06/18 18:25:49
If you HAD to PROTECT yourself or your family, or friend from an attack that is one thing....to just go out and engage any animal for the pure joy of it is just wrong....they are just trying to survive in the only way they know how...
I don't use mouse traps...that kill....they are catch and release traps....I do it for all the wild things that I have to....skunks, raccoons, Nature takes care of nature...I would only kill something to protect myself, or the family...

I was hoping to regain my fighting spirit and gettin or giving an ass whooping to a wild animal just might do it for me. Anyway the communists can't put me in jail for that yet.

thats right - go whop some animal ass - maybe a feral pig - they are a real threat and they taste great with lettuice and tomatoes and no one will fault you for that
  • sky 2012/06/16 15:54:06
Well at least he found his sheep, now its just a matter of getting them out.
And no, I don’t think that I’d survive it.
    Great post btw.

Nat Geo did a piece abot the python hunters in the Everglades. There are approximately 10,000 of these snakes and they are devouring all manner of wildlife in the Everglades. Problem is, they are very elusive and difficult to spot or track.

    Florida has sheep? Didn't know.

    This is TRUTH ..
    these invasives ..
released by irresponsible former 'owners' ..
(when the snake got too big)
not secured properly .. (and when hurricanes came through the houses they were in were blown apart and they slithered off to reproduce .. )
    these have reproduced mightily ..
in the State of FL ..
Watch Animal Planet's Miami-Dade County series
(for both the law enforcement and venom 1 program series)
you'll see what is being dealt with inside the state ...

(just one of the problems FL has with invasive species .. )
and yes, these snakes are way, way too dangerous .. as well as reproducing quickly indeed ..
