WebMD reports that yet another everyday item could be killing you, and this time the culprit is meat.
According to a recent study by the American Institute for Cancer Research and the World Cancer Research Fund, reducing your intake of red meat and processed meat could significantly reduce your risk for colon cancer.
So we'll go ahead and add that to the list of things that are sure to kill us, right next to alcohol and the sun.

When this advice is combined with other diet and lifestyle changes -- such as consuming less alcohol, boosting fiber intake, exercising, and maintaining a healthy body weight -- it could prevent 45% of all colon cancer cases, or more than 64,000 cases of colon cancer each year, the report states.

Homo Sapiens evolved into eating meat. Eating meat is not the culprit but the amount we eat.
The practice of Charring meat on a BBQ Grill also is involved. That causes the processing of toxic subtances that are carcinogenic. Meat is not "sure to kill us" however,it may if we aren't cautious as to how it is prepared and concerns about portions. Meat takes a while to digest. If our diets are deficient in fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains (Fiber),our GI track will harbor undigested meat in it for days.. Fiber helps the GI tract move the food we eat along. Nutrients are absorbed in the body AS it PASSES through. The body is a remarkable creation. If we keep it in good operating order it will serve us well. Exercise, stress reduction, healthy eating.,all contribute to our general health and welfare. BTW,cells in our bodies reproduce continuously. Some of those cells become cancerous,on a daily basis. Cancer is not dangerous if one has a healthy immune system. On a daily basis our immune system sends out Macrophages on daily ssignments and missions. A macrophage attack on cancer leaves the errant cells defenseless. It is when errant cancerous cells get a foothold that cancer becomes dangerous. A healthy body and mind is the key to survival and the key to defeating diseases of all kinds, including cancer.
Moreover, predator animals almost always have their eyes on the front of their heads, while prey animals almost always have their eyes on the sides of their heads, and both for good reason: the predators need to watch the prey in front of them and be able to judge the distance for a pounce, etc., and thus need the stereooptical depth perception. Prey need to be able to see all around them, seeing a potential attack coming from any direction.
Note that this even holds true for reptiles and birds as well as mammals. Hawks and eagles? Eyes in front. Robins, sparrows, ducks, and the like? Eyes on the side. Predatory snakes? Eyes toward the front. Lizards, garden snakes, chameleons, and other reptilian prey? Eyes on the side.
Look in the mirror. Where are your eyes? Thought so.

Also, meat is the primary source of cyanocobalmin (aka Vitamin B12), without which we die of aplastic anemia. A less-severe deficiency causes all manner of less serious but still devastating illnesses and conditions. There are a few viable plant sources of cyanocobalmin, but they do not grow worldwide, but only in a few places. Cyanocobalmin is not the only such meat-specific vital nutrient, either. Thus, it cannot be claimed that a meatless diet is natural for our species, since it would be impossible to fulfill it everywhere on Earth without some sort of technology (and transportation of foodstuffs from distant climes counts as technology).
Best to get organic, free range, and grass fed beef, chicken and pork.
