I don't need them to do that, I do it my self, I turn OFF my phone each time I go into a restaurant, more for me than anyone else.
If I can't have a lousy 30 or 40 minutes to eat MY lunch or have dinner without worrying about my stupid phone, then I have no life. The phone is for MY convience not for every Tom, Dick, & Harry that thinks they have to have access to me every waking second of the day.

I'm a chef and when I'm eating be it at a restaurant, at home or a friends home, phones do not get answered, televisions are off, distractions are removed. The meal is about the food and the company. There is nothing going on in the world that is so important that it can't wait an hour or two.

I don't use my phone much anyway but I wouldn't want to leave my phone at the door as it leaves me defenseless if an idiot decides to come in the place and shoot it up. I also wouldn't want my phone left with strangers to gather my private information.

Turning it off is normal for me anyway.

I normally turn my phone off in restaurants anyway. Unless you are someone that needs to be able to be reached at any time, or if there is a possibility you would need to talk to a sitter or something really important, its polite to keep the phone off or at least on silent.

I usually turn it off anyway, but I wouldn't leave my phone with someone I don't know. Just my luck some wackjob would use my phone to make a death threat or something and the police would come looking for me.

I could easily do that. It's like getting a discount showing up because I'm going to turn my phone down anyway.

I am actually quite offended when I'm having lunch or dinner with someone and they are more interested in their texts or facebook status than in spending time with the people they chose to go out with!

My phone is always on silent. I hate being bothered by notifications and calls go to my bluetooth anyways, so I don't need to hear my phone ring. Cool idea giving discounts for that.

This would open the restaurant up to a huge lawsuit. What if that 600 dollar cell phone was given to the wrong person?? I would be pissed, and rightfully so. I would also worry about identity theft with all the bank apps i have.

I could do it, but I'd feel weird about leaving it with a stranger, because I've actually had an iPhone stolen before and had to cancel the service. I prefer the idea of phone stacking, where everyone stacks their phones in the middle of the table and the first one who gives in and touches theirs has to pay for everyone's meal. I could go without my phone, but Il'' admit I'd be a little paranoid to leave it at the front of a resturaunt.

I never use my phone at the table really. Unless I'm not with anyone and by myself, but then again, I hardly use my cell phone anyway. So, I can do without my phone for an hour easily. I can do without it for a month,. So a 5% discount seems fine to me. Give me a 10% discount and I'll be happy to.

I could do it, but I would also wouldn't want them to be all ticked if they got a call from my sons sitter if something happened. I turn my phone on vibrate when my fiance and I are out having our time. I keep it on because of my son, if something happens I want to know about it. If it isn't from the person watching him I ignore it until later.
