Both, I usually sleep afternoons when it's so bright I get headaches even with sunglasses and so bloody hot, and am up most of the night and morning. I'm just getting over the flu, which I discovered is fairly serious with emphysema, and the drugs make me suddenly fall asleep almost anytime at the moment.
It's actually neither, but the end result is closer to Night Owl.
My body seems to think it's on Start Trek and gives me a 26 hour rotation to work with. My schedule slips farther and farther everyday, usually by an hour or two. It takes great effort or lack of sleep to keep a decent schedule. My natural sleep cycle also tends to be 9-11.5 hours, which is more than likely the main cause of my constant schedule shift. I've tried many ways to fix this, but the only one that works is a lack of sleep, which makes me tired throughout the day.
Both. Don't sleep a lot anymore. I am free to stay up and take a nap if I wish. And I got used to not sleeping very much with four children and now grandchildren around a lot. As you get older you either sleep all the time or don't feel the need and sleep less.
Actually,it's both!"As a young person in the eighties, living in Hollywood! We stayed up for days on end!But for the last 25 ta life, being a mother of five,a wife, and and now a caregiver for my sick Mother too,a volunteer,an activist, and gofer for everyone ."I stay up for days on end!"LOL
No choice for "other" which I would have checked. Sometimes I stay up very late, especially if I get involved with something and don't want to stop, like writing an article or reading a good book. Other times I hit the sack earlier and get up at a decent time. However, I only get up "early" if I have to be somewhere, catch a plane, etc.
I'm normally up until 2-3 am every night.

Oh well.
Staying up all night and sleeping in on weekends FTW!
I'm up at 5am and don't sleep until around midnight, maybe a little later but it's almost like i'm never tired
