During a wedding when the "I do's" are about to be said, and one of them can't say it and breaks of the wedding; would that be considered rude?

Definitely rude. Should have broken it off before. Lexi, your bother should consider himself lucky (and hopefully will eventually) because a divorce down the road might have cost him even more!

That is something you would know before you get to the alter so why wait and mess up so many peoples lives?

Pretty sensible if you are not very sure! It is more than rude to break up a home with a couple of kids a few years later!

The question now is, "who pays for all this wedding stuff?" The person who broke off the wedding?

That is too bad. Perhaps sue her for half the cost?

The day will come when your brother is so very thankful! I didn't and I've been sorry for 40 years!

yes. but you should act rudely instead of entering a marriage that will end in failure and unhappiness. The person should decide well before the "I Do's" approach and save everyone time/money of getting wedding gifts.
