Just don't drink anything heavy; vodka, tequila, or other liquor. Red wine is good for your health anyway, just stick to one glass and don't have it EVERY day.
Moderation is your friend, people.
(Keep in mind, I'm not promoting drinking while pregnant. I'm just saying it's NOT as big of a deal as long as some idiot doesn't frizock it up by binge-drinking to this news.)

According to five new Danish studies, drinking occasionally while pregnant may not be such a big deal after all.
Researchers took a look at more than 1,600 Danish women and their children, and compared kids born to nondrinkers to those who had mothers who could be categorized as light drinkers (1-4 a week), moderate drinkers (5-8 a week), or heavy drinkers (9+ a week). (Keep in mind that an alcoholic drink in Denmark is defined as 0.4 ounces of pure alcohol compared to 0.6 in the U.S.)
The scientists controlled for outside factors, such as smoking and the mother’s intelligence, and found that light or moderate drinking while pregnant did not have any noticeable impact on a child’s overall IQ, attention span, or self-control. However, the children of heavy drinkers did have considerably shorter attention spans compared to their counterparts.
Despite the growing evidence that light to moderate drinking during pregnancy is harmless, many doctors still strongly discourage the practice.
Dr. Jacquelyn Betrand, representative for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and co-author of three of the studies, told HealthPop: "This study doesn't change our recommendation. We have a long history that alcohol causes birth defects. Drinking during pregnancy is just not worth the risk."

OK in Moderation

And it's unhealthy to drink while you are pregnant i don't know how to explain it better if you guys can be my guess and if i think of other reasons why is never OK to drink while you are pregnant I'll be sure to add anymore if i thought of anything else :).
So still a gamble. Is the well being of the child worth a glass of beer? Yes. Is the well being of the child worth a 1/3 of a gill of whisky? Again yes. Is the child's well being worth a glass of Italian wine? Definitely not.
Not to mention that after one of your children is born with FAS it could affect future children, if you get pregnant again then the chances of that baby getting FAS are a lot more likely and just one bottle of beer could cause it the second time.
All three of my aunt's children have FAS and she only drank one beer in the 3rd pregnancy and she greatly regrets her choices now because her children are paying for her mistakes.
It seems, for some women, to avoid alcohol is a sacrifice for a few months.
And if it is, do it for a better future with the child!
If she drinks heavily or often, she needs urgent help.
*** Women : Stop drinking before you decide to have a child! ***
Also during breastfeeding, mothers should not drink alcohol.

The fetus is always susceptible. Why would the government fight against the consumption of drinking during pregnancy, if it is not a risk? And the cost of treating children born with FAS is high. No one can predict how many doses would be harmless, the alcohol passes quickly through the placenta. The fetus is my son. Why risk it?
Nobody knows HOW much a bit of alcohol affects the unborn baby, but it affects. And till now, I will not contradict the scientific research about it. But, if they discourage pregnant woman from drinking, it's because alcohol is a drug.
Can you imagine a mother putting a small glass of wine in the mouth of a little baby?
Be sure that FAS is a set of health impairment, and birth defects, totally preventable .
Answer me a question: you will put a small amount of wine in the bottle of a baby? And why?
So, it's worst when a mom put alcohol in the unborn's baby blood.
Start letting her sip your wine, and you, as a good mother, will lead her to be an alcoholic person.
By the way, isn't a crime to give some alcohol beverage to a child?
No more words, you will not understand the point.
Bye, bye.
I know that parents who drink often give the exemple to their children. Then the youth will see that habit as a normal thing to do, to have fun, to relax.
Do what you want, the child is yours, it's your problem. I have 4 children who do not drink, do not use drugs, they are healthy and happy. Thank God, I think I did a good job. I have seen mothers who have taken their children to parties watered on alcohol beverages, and today I see the same (young guys) at the bar. Much in the education of a child is a matter of example, to follow what was taught.
And I'm not to respond to you again. Bye!
