Charities depend on people sacrificing something important. People often donate money, but some donate blood. Given the choice, would you prefer to donate blood or money?
The American Red Cross today reported dangerously low levels of blood and platelet supplies, with 50,000 fewer blood donations than expected for the month of June. The Red Cross calls upon all those who are eligible to give blood to visit Red Cross or other collection centers to donate. “Donations are down more than 10 percent across the country,” said Stephanie Millian, a spokeswoman for the American Red Cross, told ABCNews.com. “We have almost half the amount of available blood on the shelves compared to last year.” Blood donations usually drop in the summer months, and the early heat wave, along with summer…

CUDDLY BUT STILL CRABBY 2012/06/26 04:42:47Donate Blood+3In my neck o the woods, it's not unusual for the Red Cross to have to furnish dozens of pints of blood to the criminal gunshot/stabbing victims who can't seem to live without mayhem and death on any given weekend.. Sometimes hundreds of pints. What a waste of time and effort.

Then, my gay ex-husband infected me with hepatitis non-a, non-b (that's code for they have no idea what it was) and they no longer want my blood. I feel lucky thathat was lethal.t it wasn't something that gave me permanent liver damage or was lethal for that matter!reply
