Dolly the cloned sheep was put to death after premature aging and disease marred her short existence. Dolly was born July 5, 1996, in a research compound of the Scottish institute, and the achievement of her creation, announced Feb. 23, 1997, created an international sensation. Dolly, a Finn Dorset sheep named after the singer Dolly Parton, bred normally on two occasions with a Welsh mountain ram called David, first giving birth to Bonnie in April 1998 and then to three more lambs in 1999. Dolly's body has been promised to the National Museum of Scotland and will eventually be put on display in Edinburgh

I hope it was the first step to a new pancreas for my granddaughter and I. We are both type 1 diabetics. Get going with the cloning of body parts already.

I think it is good to know that we can clone mammals successfully. You just never know what will happen in the future. We may need to clone animals for food or we may even have to clone ourselves if we damage ourselves or our environment too much. In the end, it may save the human race, if we're worth saving....

If used responsibly it will lead to advancements that help mankind in the future.
I don't think we are ready to deal with cloned humans yet a lot of ethical dillemnas to work out first.

I have mixed feelings about cloning. Unscrupulous people could do it unethically.

Yes, because we now know about the premature aging thing. And, no.....because, well....I dunno. The whole Idea of cloning creeps me out. It's like playing God to me, just feels wrong.

We learned from it. Apparently, they didn't grab enough of those resistant genes, since she died of disease so young. God cloned Eve according to Genesis. I don't think we need to get too slippy with this.

don't know if cloning anything is a good idea without a heck more research. read articles that relate that the Japanese are trying to bring back the Raptor and the Germans are trying to clone a human. i just feel that cloning should be delayed, until we know more
