21:18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

21:19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

21:20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

21:21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

    I think that you have to look at the fact that the child was rebellious and a drunkard, not the activities of a minor child. And the parents were not to do the stoning themselves but to make a spectacle of their son. The context is right there. Why are so many people missing that?

    I guess I must be an Idiot, HA HA, I do know that it IS in the Bible, I think it was in the Old Testament, Roaman's. It was simply saying that the was the way a lot of people lived at tyhe time, not that God Agreed, He Didn't . I heard that the Town this happened in, they were Under Judgment, as being Wrong. I know that People have been known to quote this, these verses, to make Fun of the Bible. Definitely God did Not Approve of this practice. Forgive my Typos, like Roamans, I meant Roman's. I am not talking about a Woman's clothing catalog HA HA

    Children were stoned before Jesus came and died on the cross for our sins. That was in the old testament times. When God sent his son Jesus Christ to earth as a human and Jesus died so that we could have a way to be saved, that changed everything. Here are some scriptures from the New Testament. We can now be forgiven through Jesus Christ our Savior. He died so we don't have to.

    For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,

    So Jesus did not abolish this or other similarly cruel laws, which means that we should show our love towards our children/spouses/etc. by practicing those laws which we know are unjust?
