Researchers at SUNY Albany say that unprotected sex has turned out to be an "unexpected weapon" against depression.

Just let's you get more up close an personal. Hopefully not just with random strangers, but there's something to be said for people finding a little more adrenaline/excitement when their doing "bad" things. I must say that Depression is probably a bigger issue for us than STD's overall, relating to any multitude of eventual illnesses. Enjoy your life. Free will, roll with the punches. Can still have some stealth and judgment, don't have to bang everyone you see.

IF you're in a monogamous relationship with a person free of stds...and either want a baby or are using some type of birth control. Stds and unwanted pregnancies don't make anyone happy.

It can, but I thought in this study it meant no condom (or other barrier method). They're talking about how semen affects women.
"But researchers suggest that if you're a woman in a monogamous relationship and taking birth control (or not, if you're trying to get pregnant), skipping the condom could do wonders for your mood. "

Actually this study is trying to say there is a correlation between happiness and sex that ends with semen in the vagina. That doesn't mean there isn't another form of birth control coming in to play.

I have to pick no because there is no maybe option and it's definitely not yes. I think that being an a committed relationship and not having to be concerned that your partner will give you an STD while having unprotected sex can make you extremely happy. But just unprotected sex, no. We have the highest rate of STDs and unplanned pregnancy of all the developed world and they are releasing idiotic studies like this... fuking crapshoot.

That study has trouble written all over it... There's a lot of "depressed" teenage girls nowadays. Regardless of if it does work as an anti-depressant I don't know if it should be boasted viral on the internet.

This study was obviously conducted by a bunch of horny men who do not want their women to make them wear condoms! There is something in the air in Albany, New York, that distorts the thinking process. All politicians who go there become liberals.

The "study" seems a little strange. Who were the conductors of the study? Were these married women? The fear of or desire not to get pregnant should be one bar to this "anti-depressant", STD's another. If the feeling that a man is not fearful of making you pregnant might be an ego booster if it wasn't for the fact that most men are not going to jump up and be a father just because the sex was good. I would like to see a recount using young women who live in urban areas. With four daughters, two married and two still in school I am very interested in studies like these.

This has been known for years dealing with stability , suicide and depression. I learned this about 7 years ago but I don't remember SUNY doing the study but another University.
