I've been around it a lot so I don't generally cringe. However, I do find it somewhat offensive. The frequent use of foul language is an indicator of two things:
1) a limited vocabulary
2) a weak argument.
When someone frequently uses foul language I tend to not take them too seriously.
Does swearing offend you?

Like I seem to get reported if I use foul language in an opinion. Is it really that inappropriate or does it not phase you?

The only thing that offends me is when people use the word "gay" in the wrong context or the use of any homophobic slurs.
I think people who need to use foul language to make a statement are not intelligent enough to verbalize in a none-vulgar manner.
Just kidding, Love your answer : )

So when I hear 'swearing' nowadays I don't bat an eyelid. However, I DO automatically tend to categorise the 'swearer' as being probably not very 'bright', usually 'oafish' and invariably possessing a very poor vocabulary.....!!
But I don't cuss at someone or demean them.
