I voted "yes" only because I WANT this to be true. Honestly, I've done no research on this subject to have an opinion (just like the rest of you).



But if it's only necessarily to be sexually aroused to be "smart" then I'm a genius. If, however, it is also necessary to also engage in sexual relations then hand me my dunce cap.

Though, not permanently. During the time of arousal, you are able to think better. You return to your normal capability afterward.

It actually makes sense when you think about it. When aroused, the body produces many chemicals that are also associated with the fight-or-flight response. These chemicals, including adrenaline, make the entire body perform above the usual peak, including the brain. While this was originally so we could think our way out of trouble, it really doesn't have very many functions during the act of sex. It just happens to be there.

So, when this article is saying that the act of sex makes you smarter, it's only during the act of sex, or any act that makes you aroused. Hardly a worthwhile discovery at this stage.

For guys I doubt it....God gave us a brain and a penis.... but only enough blood to run one at a time so when we get aroused we stop thinking.

I think you're missing the part about it being a temporary increase in intelligence, namely during the time of arousal. Once this moment has passed, the effects go away and your ability to think returns to normal.

Gee then you should be able to have sex during SAT's or Finals..I guess that would really be the climax of the college semester!

Depends on just how much intelligence you gain from it, I suppose. If it's not enough to realize that you need to put down the magazine and concentrate before you lose your "advantage" then you probably wouldn't have done very well, anyway.
