This was too convoluted to understand the intent of the different answers. I don't believe books PROVE anything. They can help substantiate events. They can clarify history. They can maintain records down through the ages. In the end, I KNOW God lives only because I have experienced for myself His presence. I would never tell another that they are stupid or anything else like that because they don't believe as I do. I would never ask another to take my word for it or to accept something of this magnitude without personal experience. So, no, a book proves nothing. It is simply a tool for learning and growing in knowledge we already possess or to inspire us to SEEK such knowledge.

God is based on faith, not proof. If proof was needed to be a God fearing individual, there probably wouldn't be many, if any. The bible was written by man. Man's word is hardly proof.

I don't believe that any book can prove or disprove the existence of god.
I don't believe that only religious people can have morals.

I am a polytheist. I have ethics and morals which comply for the most part, with societal mores... I did not learn these things from a book, I learned them from life... from dealing with people.

I am not sold on these books. Church is a mini museum of a book. To credit this tome but to discredit, say, a buddhist monastary is commpn and not ok any more than saying because there is a Disney store that Goof Troop comics aren't a Bible-like tome when the contain a moral lesson in every installment. Save for the bloody massacres and rape and born child murdering. Shame shame whoever wrote those down as an all forgiving gods decree. I'll not bend my will for that.

God can prove he exists to you, regardless of anything else, period.

In spite of that, he's given the Bible, which has been meticulously copied by Israelites for over 4,000 yrs, their lives given to that occupation. Then the manuscripts were eventually collected, & ended up in what we commonly know as the King James Version, although many earlier Bibles existed.

God also says he's given creation as proof of his existance-yet people have tried reversing that. (about like an ant trying to comprehend playing the new video games)
