Does one need a book to teach you right from wrong? Or is it just common sense?

Right from wrong or morality is actually and interesting component of social evolution. Do some reading if you want to actually understand it. Damn, I should have picked Jedi unicorn!

but i think it well be very big ..
    needs much time to read
    different according to the backgrounds
needs much time to write it
and people won't agree to read it ..because it will be written by normal people like them so how come that they know better in "right or wrong " than them
except if they were (the authors) ..."special"

I think most people are born with a certain sense of right and wrong. Many things a child does to test it's limits, it knows are wrong, even though they have not been specifically told a particular thing is wrong. They will act guilty over it even though they haven't been caught.

We need to be taught. Books can help, but books can't take the place of parents and people who care about us teaching us right from wrong when we are young. Children are not born with either common sense or an idea of right and wrong. Common sense is acquired and right and wrong are taught.

Some people have a basic innate/inherent knowledge of right and wrong. Some don't. Those who don't need books. :-)

Now. . .what is a Jedi Unicorn. Is that like a horse with a light saber shoved up its nose?

Some people are stupid enough to actually need a book to know right from wrong. For example: Satan is King. That is the book I read to ensure my right from wrong.

Books can help people learn certain things but no matter how much you read if the person does not have the common sense to apply it to their day to day lives then there is no point even if the world was one large library......

Sadly in the present world, very few people actually have common sense.... which in turn creates a kinda catch 22 situation because I'm not sure if it can be referred to as common sense anymore....

It might not be innate, but next to self-preservation, we learn most quickly that harming another is not right. Treat other people, and the planet, with respect. Nearly every religious book says something like it, but in the Christian bible, Jesus sums it up like this: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

You don't need a whole book for that. It could fit on a bumper sticker.

There is no common sense as you can see by the votes in the simplest and most obvious question in Sodahead! Neither can a book define what's right or wrong! Consequently there is no right or wrong! There's just morality and immorality!

By moral I mean ethical.... And not ethics as Church or society defines it... More than checking if you do what you please without bothering anyone else... There's nothing closer to objective than this, in my opinion!
