A recent presentation at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) insulted many in attendance after the employee giving the presentation encouraged women not to be "plain Janes."

According to US News, women were told "Makeup makes you more attractive" "No flats" and "Paint your nails" among other equally off-putting tips. What do you think, SodaHeads? Do you agree with the DIA presenter? Does makeup make you more attractive?

i dont mean to sound offensive but i jsut think makeup is a way of a girl hidng her true self. i have never wore make up and i just feel so freee. when i see girls with makeup i jsut wonder what lies beneath

I like both looks. Make up is one look, while natural is another look. It doesn't necessarily make someone more attractive, some woman look better natural.

Of course makeup makes women more attractive, that's the purpose of putting it on. Some women look absolutely gorgeous without makeup though. Haven't you seen the "celebrities without makeup" pictures in the tabloids? Many of them look just like average women or worse. But when they have their makeup and airbrushing they look fabulous.

It's amazing how good our skin and bone structure can look when we actually believe in ourselves and let the natural light shine out. We have it all potentially, we are not a canvas to be painted, but a finished work of art as is. Confidence is what attracts me. Fix yourself from the core on out, don't cover up with mundane accessory.

Some it does some it doesn't.... the ones who make them selves look orange it makes them look stupid. I personally my self only rarely ever wear it because I don't feel like I should have to hide how I really look

If applied liberally. I have seen woman put it on with a putty knife and its gross.
It's suppose to accentuate your features, applied lightly.

Of course. As much as people would love to say everyone's more beautiful without it, for most it's not true. I know for me it sure isn't & I feel I look way better w/makeup. Men will constantly say they prefer no makeup on women, but the fact of the matter is that men generally don't know enough about makeup to really make that claim. It's kind of like to a woman,there's a difference between a 3" heel & a 6" heel,but to men, they're just both high-heels. What they don't like is overdone makeup. If it isn't overdone, they often don't know you're wearing it, so they therefore think they like no makeup when it isn't the case.
