Lady Gaga has successfully stopped Lady Goo Goo from appearing in YouTube videos and on iTunes, at least temporarily.

Lady Goo Goo is one of the animated “moshlings” that appear on a popular UK-based social networking and gaming site for children. The “Moshi Monsters” can be adopted and cared for by website visitors; another popular character is Dustbin Beaver based on Justin Bieber. Read more...

She took this name from someone else. Nobody's an original, maybe "Lady Gaga" should get pretty, get smart, get talent, and get a life. THEN maybe she can talk. O

I voted no, but they would've been safe with Baby GooGoo. People still would've made the connection to Lady GaGa, without the lawsuit.

Jeez... this is why I'm starting to dislike lady gaga, she thinks everything is about her and no one can be like her whether or not they were before.
Wasn't there something similar with an ice cream shop? It's like seriously.... "goo goo" and "gaga" have been around for a LONG time before her stupid ass. You shouldn't be able to own words like that.

The UK, let me tell you, have gone insane with copyright law!! It's one of our biggest bugbears. Just making a small movie to put on YouTube these days, if you have one second of a song, it's usually 'muted' by YT on 'copyright' grounds! I'm fed up with it!

Lady gaga as a whole is made up,fake & stolen, shes an actor just like every other singer, hence why they use different names,so when they "lie" in the small print its considered "acting" so they can get away with it, since its in their contract. So when you see Lady gaga did this and did that, wrote this, directed her video, ect, thats not Stefani Joanne Germanotta, that's whom ever was playing the role of Lady gaga at the time of writing, directing, being creative, ect.Stefani Joanne Germanotta is just the face. But anyway, she took her name gaga from Queens song, she already stole, but of course gaga will stop them from using a name that has nothing to do with her, because shes a fascist dictator.

    gaga: 1)Senile. 2) Crazy 3) Infatuated.

goo goo (syn. ga ga) (often repeated, childish) Imitation of the sound of a baby who hasn't yet learned to speak.

One has single As, the other double Os. As inane (pointless) as the "Mac Attack" suits post recently, are people that illiterate that they can't tell the difference? Too much "Living by Litigation", save the court time (& lawyer fee$) for something that really matters.

parody has always been an accepted artistic form, although in this case it will probably be difficult to determine exactly which one of these artists is the parody

The two names are different enough to understand who is who. Gaga is not the first person to be spoofed by someone. She should grow up and take it like an adult.

It's probably just a parody. Parodies are allowed to be produced, even without consent of the original producer or company. There's a law that states that, even though I forget what it exactly says.

Legally, it does infringe. But the *real* question is, is it a fair use exception? That's for a court to determine.
  • brunsworks Aquariu... 2011/10/18 03:02:20
    brunsworks
It's a constitutionally protected parody of GaGa's "homage" to Queen's "Radio Gaga," as pointed out earlier.

Constitutional protection under fair use is not automatic, even for parodies. The law goes on an individual case by case basis, weighing a total of four factors against each other. Chances are any decision would come out in favor of Goo-Goo, but it's not a slam dunk.
