Does it bother you that many immigrants refuse to speak English out in public?

I don't speak Spanish so when she talks about something that happens it clueless and I have to find a friend to translate. I don't care if someone doesn't speak English but when do work with other people they should be bilingual

But that's just me, I spose I just have a higher tolerance for that kind of thing.
In Arizona, where I now live, the most obvious immigrant group are from Mexico, but they still come from all over the world. I teach high school, and the students are anxious to leave their parents' language behind and master English, but there's always a new arrival to whom they end up speaking in Spanish. These are all the things that have made our culture so rich and beautiful. I feel badly for anyone so narrow minded and fearful to be bothered by it.
It does take time to learn.
(especially where safety is an issue .. I notice the mention of a bus driver that doesn't speak English .. and that is dangerous indeed .. )
Now what's truly interesting ..
is that when I go out and about ..
it is curious indeed ..
too many just assume that Americans do NOT know anything OTHER than English ..
and that's not the Truth ..
(for I speak several languages)
(and it is always embarrassing when someone is talking in another language .. about .. well .. very personal topics .. and do NOT understand this is offensive to others .. because we KNOW what you are saying .. )
Sometimes I've spoken up and told them in their language to please stop ..
