The Hooters restaurant chain, known best for its barely dressed waitresses, is suing La Cima Restaurants over its Twin Peaks franchises for allegedly stealing its trade secrets.

Twin Peaks is a restaurant chain throughout several states whose motto is “Eats, Drinks, Scenic Views” — and also features scantily clad waitresses albeit not in a beach-themed location; instead its waitresses play up the mountain lodge theme by dressing as “lumberjills.” Read more...

How can anyone claim that using women's sexuality to sell their product is 'their' trade secret? Its not a secret for one, and Hooters is just a Johnny come lately to take up the marketing technique.

Screw you Hooters, and that is not an offer

Frivilous law suit ... but our wacky courts will probably award Hooters with a victory ...

Give us a break! This business model has been around a lot longer than Hooters has, plus Hooters had never originated this form of serving food and drinks.

Hooters should be careful they're not sued by playboy or some other figure of the porn industry

This would mean that the Playboy Clubs could sue Hooters. Sex has been used to sell all things for years. Now if they stole the hot wings recipe that would be grounds for a suit.

You cannot possibly expect to be able to trademark scantily clad women. It's like a strip club suing another for having strippers, claiming that "they had the idea first."

Twin Peaks has better food at better prices, their own beer, and more televisions for watching sporting events. Hooters is loosing clientele and rather than improve they decide to sue. Sad.

Hooters will probably bribe the judge and win the case though. That's how it is in America.

I'm sure there are plenty of trade secrets involved in the success of Hooters. No innocent passerby could ever come up with the idea of scantily clad women slinging food without swiping it from them.

i would like to say things on this one. Big boobs and hooters go great together hooters has been around for a long time. Second what is wrong with this picture maybe twin peaks is a sub company making the whole chain of hooters and twin peaks money. It the same thing with verizon and all there subs like frontier, verizon wireless, verizon prepaid services, and many others. It the only way not be under the law of the monoply act that was put in to place to protect companies to control everything. Verizon found a way around and so did hooters, Maybe the person stole trade secrets or maybe it is a stunt to spark bs like this what we are reading here. It is the same issue everywhere pointless bs that means nothing to the world but the petty crap people. Looking for a cheap thrill in life. be it the way of hookers, hooters, strip clubs and or adult bookstores. We focus on crap that is pointless move the hell on and focus on the real crap like making jobs, fixing the ecomony, bring house sells up, and drop the unemployment rate. This article is basically a waste of digital paper and the taxpayers dollars that it was writtin in. Have fun reading garabage.

Everyone uses sex to sell their products, which is a shame, but it's the way we live... and suing everyone is also the way we live, and that's a shame too.

It's like Apple suing The Beatles over the word "apple" and everybody else over anything with "pod" in it (like "podcast"). Just a waste of time and arrogance on the party doing the suing.

Why is it always about men and stripping women down for sex appeal?
I wish there was a place like Twin Peaks where it's the MEN in sexy waiter outfits. The lodge design + men? I'd definately go!
