A racy Calvin Klein ad depicting a gorgeous near-naked young woman surrounded by three half-naked men is being yanked from billboards after critics complained it suggests gang rape.
Calvin Klein has been no stranger to controversy for the last 30 or so years, and fashion-watchers know the brand actually courts it, intentionally crossing the line.
But this ad, which shows the woman being straddled by a man while another pulls her hair, went too far for Advertising Standards Bureau in Australia, the Herald Sun reports.
"The Board considered that whilst the act depicted could be consensual, the overall impact and most likely takeout is that the scene is suggestive of violence and rape," according to the case report.
"The Board considered that the image was demeaning to women by suggesting that she is a plaything of these men. It also demeans men by implying sexualized violence against women.''
Sexual assault workers and women’s advocates were among those calling for the billboards to be taken down. We can see their point, but for a Calvin Klein ad, it doesn't seem all that shocking to us.

It also is what women want[tobewanted].
You know.. to be noticed.
Sad.
Also I don't think rapists are models who wear Calvin Klein designer clothing with professionally styled hair... They are in better shape then most people so they have the least reasons to rape anyone. If they were all fat, ugly fast food workers with a drug habit I might say they at least have little to live for and might be more prone to committing the crime... even in these cases I think most people are decent. We worry more of each other than if we just knew each other we would realize we have little to fear for, it's so rare that you would ever cross paths with a rapist.
The guy with her head on his lap is supporting her head not pulling her hair you dumbasses. Her face and body is showing no sign of resistance or struggle.
The only people seeing any violence here are uptight self proclaimed moral supperiors that would not know what fun is even if they were watching kids run around in a kindergarden.
