Interestingly enough ..
there's still one of these Drive-Ins of yesteryear ..
located near the family farm ..
I even took my nephews there for a movie a few times ..
it was just a lot of fun and good memories ..

There's still two by me I go to.And I went to many in NJ only one is left in NJ and 40 in PA.The first drive -in was in Camden,NJ.

No I think It's opening up this weekend? Cheap too I think it was $6 for 2 shows.I go when I want to smoke and drink. In the day in NJ we stole speakers,snuck through a hole in the fence,hid in the trunk,had 1/4 keg and 20 or more of us would smoke weed drink on lawn chairs no problem,back In the 70's NOW you would get 20 to life. lol We always saw Bruce Lee films and horror double features.Great memories!

I went a few times with my parents but it was rare. We went as teenagers, sometimes to watch the movies and sometimes to make out.

I went with my parents, I went there on dates, went there with car loads of friends in the summer and sat in chairs, they were lots of fun and I miss them. Really too bad people today can't enjoy them like we used to.

The ONE retro thing I don't really miss, all the bugs biting and the discomfort and rowdy customers..I never liked the drive-in too much!

Yes, but why remember it? I go almost monthly. Our county has two or three drive in theaters. You pay $4 per person for two movies, which are brand new. I remember we saw Captain America and Transformers for $8 total, for two people.

I loved drive ins, sit in your car and not have to hear people next to you and in this day and age with everyone playing with the electronic toys it would be great if they were still around. If is was cold running to the bathroom was no fun but still when all is said and done the best the seats in the house, we still have one in a city close by

I remember the speakers hanging on the window, and the big screen.

I remember hearing that someone had torn down the last of them. This after they tried building low-power FM stations so that you could hear FM stereo sound in your car. That is, if you could afford the gasoline to keep your car running for two hours.

That's when going to the movies was really cool! You could bring your own food & drinks. No-matter what it was. Ah-h-h! the old days..

Last movie I saw at a drive-in was Grease with the double feature of Harper Valley PTA,,,which I was not allowed to watch because of the rating. HUH? I'm in the car, where do you want me to go?

Yupp, use to love going to the drive in.
We would go in my dads motorhome and park in the back row, and my mom would make dinner in the motorhome kitchen as we watched the movie. We could even lay down in the beds to watch the movie, and had our own bathroom. Was great times.
I still see a drive in theater every once in a while, and think of those good times we had as a family.
