Does Anyone Know of anything To Help A Rash?

My grandmother is going though some heard stuff, and she has a rash on her head and it really is hurting/annoying her. Does anyone know of anything that can help? I normally don't ask questions like this, but well... It's my grandmother, and I just want to help.

You have to find out what's causing it... there are drug rashes, contact dermatitis, auto-immune diseases, skin conditions and all sort of things that could be to blame. I'd start with a dermatologist and see what he/she has to say about it.

Yes! Take...erm....oats! Like you would use to make porridge...put them inside a bag, a cloth sort of bag if you have one. Get in the bath and get the bag a bit wet, then rub the oat-filled bag over the area where the rash is. Probably be good for her head because that's an inconvenient place to put creams or ointments. But this is very soothing, parents used to do it when I got hives when I was a kid.

Nappy rash cream works wonders on adults too, and it's fairly cheap. If you can't find it in the supermarket check the chemist.

My mother used it for sunburns. She would put it in the fridge, so it was cool and soothing.
You can get it at most pharmacies. Hope it helps.

((hugs)) Aloe? Maybe, or Curel anti-itch lotion works really well on my son's rashes? Maybe even baby rash lotion like A&D; ointment?

It probably is.. or far more likely a reaction to the chemo. My dad got mouth sores :(

What are your grandmothers pre existing conditions that she takes medication for? What are the side effects of her medication? Call here doctor immediately! If he/she can't give a reason then get a second opinion right away!

I'm not sure, it could be. It's used for cow udders. My son's pediatrician prescribed it when he was a baby. It cleared up his rashes, diaper and non-diaper, within 24-48 hours.

try using some unscented lotion or sprinkle some Baking soda on the rash. Wish I could help more. You and grandma, will be in my prayers.

She does, but the heat is a problem for her, so getting there with a car with no AC is hard :/

If you need to transport her put ice in baggies and wrap them in wash cloths, apply to the back of her neck and her left wrist. It will help keep her cool.
