Does anyone know how to stop pain?

so because of something I did to my knee a year ago it hurts badly. For awhile it stoped on it's own, now its hurting again. To the point where I was limping and yesterday my knee locked up. My doctor wants to do a scooping sergry because he doesn't know excatly whats wrong. I've tried Advill, physical thyopy, Icing it, soaking it. I don't know what to do anymore. It's my right knee cap. Whats going on is that eveytime I walk the knee cap slides to the left, there is fluid in the knee and cartalige lost. Oh I also had a cortizon shot and it made my knee swell up (a while ago not lately). So does anyone know anything that can help?

All pain does not work the same. I know that I have had chronic pain in multiple parts of my body from sports injuries and Tens Untits have helped and so have some other methods but I still take pain meds. But I am lucky that my doctor put me on something that helps and does not knock me out or make me want more all the time like past meds. But is is a hard to get med and not proven 100% for long term use so we will see.

i was on a pain med and I had a bad reaction to it so my doctor doesn't want to put me on any more pain meds. I haven't heard till today of Tens Untits what is it excatly?

The tens units are great but not on all type of pain. I am not sure if it will help your knee. I have not had good luck with it on my knee pain but on my back pain it is good. Are you seeing a pain management doctor? If not you might want to look for one. I know there are other ways to treat pain.

No I haven't been seeing one. my paretns don't think it's that big of a problem even though I can no longer do thinigs that I am use to doing.

I use a Tens Machine for any pain and it helps amazingly well. One of my friends has a tens machine electrodes permanently installed in his back. If you get the small units you can place them anywhere. I use one know for tendonitis when it bothers me.

Course then there were doctors that use to advertize for smoking but their blindness was exposed too.

I guess cancer research centers are spreading propaganda because they didn't believe you?

DMSO and an ACE bandage might help along with taking MSM. Only if your doctor fails to fix it. Make sure you research the proper way to use DMSO first. It must dry on your skin before you cover it with anything.
