Does anyone know anything about transitional housing?

While applying for the only other help in my city than the emergency shelter that my fiancee and I will be in, I've discovered that the appointment that I made was with a transitional home. I thought that it was a homeless shelter that was more long term than an emergency one... Regardless, I read about programs, 3 month commitments, and low income costs... Therefore, I'm getting a little worried about my situation. On top of that, it seems that transitional housing kicks you out in the day time just as a emergency shelter, and my disabilities prevents me from being able to walk every which way all of the time. Unsure what I'm getting myself into. Everything just has to be so complicated. All I was looking for was a place to stay until I get back on my feet that doesn't kick you out during the day, where you can apply for jobs, and where you get help with necessities. Where everyone works together and there's no fuss. Oh wells,

Do you know anything about this? Am I applying to the wrong program? Do you need money for transitional housing?
