Does anyone else sometimes go through horrible phases when they just don't feel interested in anything?

I'm going through that phase right now funnily enough, all the things I usually really enjoy, including SodaHead, just same mundane and monotonous. It's like I've become anhedonic, nothing seems to be worth getting out of bed for.

It's depression! I don't like to admit it, cause I like to stay strong. But I've been through it before. You sleep a lot and have no motivation. Figure ehat your lacking in life and find it. Last time for me it was lack of self accomplishment. I had accomplished lots but we are human we like to hear it from others. As usual my awesome fiance helped me through it. Shes the best at knowing when i need a hug and not a ass chewing. :)

Sounds to me like a depression. Please seek help if it lasts more than a few days.

Only in brief and rare moments. There are cases when I feel restless and need a change a pace, such as a hard bike ride, a workout, or some good sex. Other times when I am restless, it is just a signal that I am exhausted and need sleep.

What you describe could be a phase of depression. I believe most of us get that feeling once in a while. One of the best cures is exercise. Go for a long walk or jog. Get a basketball and go to a park and shoot baskets. Go swimming. I am listing some things that might get one out of the "blue funk".

That would be part of depression. Best to wrap your mind around postive memories and start taking long walks. Think about what you can do today and now that you would like to do and go from there.

Yes, I have. There are many people that do. Generally, it could mean your lacking something in your system, like B- Vitamins. Get on the computer and look up the reason for B- Vitamins and see if it fits you. If not, listen to your body and look up more things that may have a connection. I do this and it helps, plus you get a great education about your own body.

Many people, myself included, suffer periodic bouts of depression where "nothing seems to matter". Strangely, in my own case i find that sometimes when 'everything in the garden
is rosy' for me that is when i can often be at my most despondent. That great statesman
Winston Churchill, Britain's war time leader suffered, very bad spells of it. When he was in the throes of it he referred to his depression as his "black dog"
In my case, I HAVE a 'black dog' in reality-Jake, my labrador, pictured-who if anything at all can, LIGHTENS my mood.

Yep. Usually in the winter months, for me. I hate everything, and am interested in nothing but sleeping. I make myself get up and get out. You really have to force yourself sometimes to do things. When you do, you find that you feel better and actually enjoy getting out, but it takes a real effort. I think I hate the shorter days without lots of sunshine.

Nope, I'm always interested in everything.
I do, however, often become discouraged that so many stupid people are permitted to breathe my clean air, drink my clean water, and generally impede my progress in life.

I think everyone goes through things like this at one time or another. Some people more than others. You have to get through it even though you think anything will ever be fun again or interesting. Things do get better, it just takes time. If it goes on or gets worse, it's probably best to see a DR so you can be helped. Nothing is ever That bad that you can't get help somewhere!

Yes, it's called depression and can just hit for no reason. I have gotten it throughout my life but never took any meds..i either go with it for a bit or i force myself to go on..It's just another part of life..a good thing to help is writing in a journal...and or taping your feelings..

Eh, kind of. I'm always obsessed with something, but I lose interest in things a lot. I also get very bored easily.
