NO!! 10 year olds so do not need them!! The only way I would let my kids have a cell is if they were on a sports team, or already working which is not the case yet; I feel that if a kid got a cell at that age it is just spoiling them.

My mind iznt quite made up but im goin toward yes. Mostly becuz there"z been too much BULL POOH goin on at schoolz. In 5th grade when i went to a school in dallas, a dude shot himself on our school lawn and we were on lock down almost forever. I couldnt call anyone and my mom waz worried SICK. Ur choice folkz.

If my child showed me that they were responsible enough to have a cell phone at age 10 then sure. But I think the real issue is that parents are scared of their kids and give them worldly possessions to keep them happy and shut them up. I would get a phone that only connects to the people in my childs circle. mainly me and people I approve of O.o SO yes AND no

It depends on the child....do they have a long walk alone home from school? A bus stop? Last winter, on one of the coldest days of the year, (one of those where they warn against being outside for extended periods of time) one of my son's friends and his sister got locked out accidentally....except neither had a cell phone, so they had to walk 25 minutes to my house...which was dangerous....the younger child was numb and crying by the time she got here....a simple phone call could have saved that....needless to say, they got phones later that week.

Not at all. What the hell is a ten year old going to do with a cell phone?! No, no, no. I think ten year olds are too young to be unsupervised, and the adult they are with should have the phone for making emergency calls NOT the child himself.

i see kids that are younger than that with a better phone than me. it's crazy kids dont need a phone that young. 10 year olds should only have a phone for emergencies and it shouldnt be some fancy high tech one. kids are just going to lose their imaginations from growing up too fast. =/
