You!

Are you an eBay user or do you spend most of your online time on sites like Reddit? Apparently, the kind of social media sites you visit divulge a lot about your own political affiliations. Check out the graphic below and see if you agree with the findings.

ENGAGEDC.COM reports:
Like to sell stuff on eBay? You might be a Romney voter -- and you’re probably very highly engaged politically. Like xckd and Tumblr? You’re totally in the Obama camp

No. Content and the individual delivering the message is what influences me. Periodically i will visit a site for plain old entertainment... like SodaHead for instance.

They said that about the things you like determine your political alignment too. If your into pro-wrestling, you a Democrat. if your into monster trucks, you a Republican. So if you like both, are you an independent?

Social media might seem to be involved in politics and many other themes or be influenced by them, but opinions differ and "currents" vary in every community. All the different people of all kinds who are part of these communities and transmitting their opinions and feelings are the essential composition and keep them alive. There are of course specific communities which are more or less engaged in political or religious matters, but they will rarely extend like communities open to everybody.

Politics effect everyone's life whether on the web or not; it's just that the average person would rather keep their heads shoved in the sand.

I think you have no guidelines...
I have a set of guidelines I follow, if something matches up with those guidelines then I go with that, I'm constantly bombarded by things but it still doesn't change my mind one way or another because if it doesn't follow my guidelines then it doesn't influence me.

I know but lets say your governor or mayor passes this gay ass law. Your gonna be pissed. So if that one thing made your day pissy people aren't gonna wanna be around you. which means you could have met your wife that day that you were gonna be rich with and have like 40 kids and still have money to buy 18 more mansions. But no, you were pissy and now your wife don't want to ever meet you. But if your governor or mayor didn't pass that law and you were happy. BAM! theres your 40 kids and 18 mansions and sexy hot model wife. I think they influence peoples life to some extent

Government passes laws all the time, we vote those people out all the time, we change laws all the time.
If I don't like something I say something but really all we can do is follow what's closest to what we believe and vote that way and hope for the best, I think for the most part your analogy is mostly hyperbole though.

According to the graph, I'm all over the place.

They more influence the news sources I check. But, they don't influence my choice to use sites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and the like.
