I am a pretty observant person, but I haven't seen any Burqa trends in any of the areas I have traveled to in the USA either..............

Do people really think this will become the norm of chosen apparel to come?

from my experience many of the women that wear hijab are phonies. I tend to think it is more from habit, but their behavior speaks otherwise. Much like nuns, who are not very nice people, but display a face of innocence, kindess and purity. it's a false face.

I don't see Hindu/Sikh turbans and head scarves being worn nearly as much by the young as by their parents, but can't really comment on burkas etc. Cheers.

I am not quite sure what you are reffering to. The burqa, the black full body sheet like dress; the hijab, meaning covering, which refers to dressing modestly on a whole; or the headscarf.

I've seen hijab; I haven't seen a burqa.

Hijab is just wearing a scarf. The burqa/niqab is when it gets disturbing.

Wearing hijab makes it much easier to fit in than wearing a burqa,and there are things that are difficult to do while wearing burqa,like eating for example.

That is my biggest beef............. Way to confining for me and probably too hot. I still find myself wondering, why would someone "Willingly" choose to wear a burqa? idk....

I know some people who put it on if they're on their way to their friends house,to hide their make up.

One of my friends wears a burqa willingly on her own,I'm not sure exactly why.
The rest of my friends either don't wear hijab at all or just cover their hair.

Very pretty colors and fabrics these days! If I was going to be wearing one, it would have to have some color to it. imho
