For most of you, this might be somewhat of a rhetorical question. Who doesn't wash their clothes, right? While most people throw everything in the wash, including their denim, the problem with washing your favorite pair of jeans is that they can shrink and will definitely fade, even after just one wash.
Instead of buying jeans a size too big and hoping they shrink down enough, and replacing them throughout the year once they fade, our friends at Madewell have a solution.
On a blog post Friday morning they explain, "Though it may sound strange, we say don't wash your jeans. What to do instead? Pack them in a plastic bag and freeze them for a day or two. All unsavory elements will disappear..."
I've actually heard this from my fashion-savvy friends before, and I know a lot of people that swear by it. My advice is that if you plan on doing this instead of washing, buy your jeans a size too small so that they won't stretch out too much from wear... but what do you think? Do you wash your denim?

By the way, the freeze drying only works for some odors and it doesn't remove dirt, oils, and general grot which destroy the fabric faster than washing.
I wash my jeans when I can smell the crotch stink after getting out of the shower.
The shower cleanses my olfactory pallet, thus allowing me to smell my jeans long before they become truly ripe.
I usually wear one pair of jeans per week.
If I have a special social engagement, I either wear khakis or a fresh pair of jeans.
Doesn't bacteria just go dormant in cold?
Don't even get me started if you go commando in your jeans.
"I've actually heard this from my fashion-savvy friends before.." Ha do you believe everything your friends say?
