If you live in California, especially outside the City you really can't use it. It takes longer to get from one point to another, it's pretty much useless.
Rarely...it's just too expensive here in the UK and it's usually cheaper to drive, especially if you're travelling as a family and need multiple tickets.
Last time I used public transportation I was groped. Is that what the taxpayer had in mind? City of Houston doesn't really get the people moving with its public transporatation, it's more of a program to spread the carless people around the city via buses to apartments in the suburbs so their kids can be in gangs in the burbs instead of in the city. When a bus stop is in the area, beware. I don't know what the connection is. Why can't broke people just be broke and hard working? Nope. Always problems near our bus stops and apartments by them. No thanks! Our light rail is known for running over people and hitting cars. I don't know what is up with that either. Must be the design.
Only in some circumstances. Every year my city holds festivals of all kinds. From carnivals, to food, to fringe theater, to film festivals. And instead of putting up with looking for good parking spaces, and high cost of parking meters, I just park at the closest train station and ride it to the destination.
WHO KNEW THE WORLD HADN'T FIGURED OUT HOW TO PUT EFTPOS' ON A BUS.
so shameful. i only had a $20 and the driver was in a cranky mood.
