(Edit: Oops! That/my poll answer should have been NO!)

I lost my faith in institutional government when I woke up to find forces of the U.S. government incinerating eighty-three men, women and children at Waco, Texas on live TV.

    4-19-93

That is the date I ceased to be a liberal, ceased to be a Democrat, ceased to believe in the elitist controlled farce of America's system of government--and ceased to put faith in ANY human system of government at all.

Government is evil. Government is brute force. It has ZERO capacity for good even if, by a process of miracles/Divine intervention I don't understand, sometimes good comes about as a result of something government does.

It's hard to trust people who vote themselves raises, leave our borders wide open, force us to buy a health care program they themselves wouldn't sign on for, and constantly try and take our freedoms away by subverting the very constitution that united us to start with.

And now with the security leaks, other countries will not trust us, we have put our people in the field at jeopardy, and weakened ourselves in the eyes of the world. We've seen the enemy and it is our own government.

In general, they are probably doing some things I don't know about but at the end of the day I generally trust my government to look out for my interest, defend me from those who would harm me and move forward in the best interests of its people. It has rarely (I don't say never) done anything to contradict that image.

The government as an entity will always seek more control, once they get it, it is almost like a snowflake surviving in the desert to get them to give it up, just does not happen. The longer our current government exists without correction, the bigger they will grow. It is just nature. Some of them actually believe they are doing good when actually contributing to this countries demise. I do hope one day the mass will get of main stream medias bs and actually find the truth. This will allow us to vote for someone that actually cares about the people. Until we have that leader we will continue to trickle down...pun intended.

Governments, like most malignancies, always seek to metastasize into larger entities and eventually, if left unchecked, become lethal to the governed. It is inherent in their very nature. "Democide", which is defined as the murder of any person or people by a government, including genocide, politicide, and mass murder, was the leading cause of non-natural death, surpassing even war, in the 20th Century.

...to the same extent that I trust the people who elect government officials, if you're referring to politicians. If you're referring to bureaucrats, I trust them to self-serve much as did the financiers that brought down our economy. It's why the least government is best.

Not since I really started paying attention about 5 years ago. Too much evidence that we are being led down a path of destruction.
A movie has been made by the director of Schindler's List. It is based on a book by Dinesh D'Souza. The title of the book is "Obama's America: Unmaking the American Dream". The movie's title is "2016". It sets out a scenario of what the U.S. will look like in 2016 if Obama gets re-elected. It is supposed to be released this summer before the election. I'm interested to see if it gets blocked in any way.

I think we need more substance in politics and not gimmicks. It seems to me sometimes the powers that be are spending most of their time thinking up more ways to get us lashing out at each other, instead of questioning those we vote for.

Its good that they Olympics and GB are successful and so many athletes from other countries are doing so well, but our politicians are bloody useless!
