I was a Police officer some years ago, spent about four years on the force, and sorry I can truthfully say it really depends just like any other human being whether you can They are in the business to arrest and apprehend criminals. The nature of the job makes them suspicious of everyone they come in contact with. If your and average citizen most of the time no problem, but you should be very selective what you say to any of them. The idea that they are there for you is not what is about. I see a lot of young police officers today based upon shooting incidents that I believe are running scared. I don't believe they have the same street sense and no feeling for the communities that they serve. That is my feelings and my bias.

not since Wisconsin 2011...they proved their UNIONS are more important than the people...later on ohio we were shown the same thing. Cops lick the boots of their socialist union masters and they will happily kill a civilian if they order it

Generally, they are small people with big egos. The type of person who becomes a police officer gets off on the power they have over everyone else.

They're becoming more and more militarized and brutal and have the mentality of prison guards in a police state. Are there any good ones? Sure, but to keep using that as an excuse for the host of drone creatures that destroy lives only make things worse.

No, in fact we had to move to a different town and county due to one of the most corrupt police departments in the history of Massachusetts. They were so inept, we had a crime occur in our yard (assault) and my husband and I were never interviewed. The innocent victim had to pay over a thousand dollars in fines and court fees while the criminal went on to commit more crimes.
So far we are completely comfortable where we live and haven't had any problems. We are so glad we moved away, but no one should have to leave their hometown due to a corrupt police department! I know we're not alone.

No, not completely. Many of them are Rambo type trouble makers. One of my problems with the police is they stick their nose in where it is none of their business, such as seat belts and road blocks. It is absolutely none of their business whether I wear a seat belt. They are always saying they need more police. The fact is, they could get by with less policeman if they would just stick to their own business.

There is a fine line between a cop, and a social deviant. Many make it through the psychological testing process.

Not really. I realize that it's a difficult job and a necessary thing. Unfortunately authority commonly corrupts the hearts and minds of those in possession of it. Too commonly it ultgimately becomes an us-aginst-them mind set and situation. On both sides.

most of the time I do. It is man who end up becoming corrupt and with the growth of government I trust government less and less. Eric Holder is a great example of the one person who should follow the law and set an example and yet he hides information from the public and law enforcement. And now his boss, our president, is covering that info up for him. That kind of behavior we should all fear. Not the police.
