Do you think SH should have an age restriction?

The longer I am here the more I see from teenagers that bother me tremendously. I don't feel they should all be here (I am sorry teens, it's nothing personal). I think SH should have an age restriction, or when we make a poll we can set up age perimeters. I am a firm believer that kids are very impressionable, naive, too trusting and can not make good judgement when up against an adult, especially a conniving adult. As I've told some, I myself have a 15 yr. old daughter. When I read the things these teens are saying, doing & who they are conversing with and in what manner I shudder at the thought of my daughter being on this site, and alone at that. Seeing this daily brings a lot of mixed emotions out, from sadness to anger. I already know I'm sensitive but maybe I'm just too sensitive...?!

I Disagree+8There is an age restriction, 13, I believe. As for teens being here, age is not the issue, the maturity level is. I've seen quite a few adults' comments here that made me wonder if they themselves should be allowed on SH.

I would never let my child be a part of any community like this. Most of the kids I have spoken to said their parent do not know there are here. That should be stopped.
I personally, wouldn't let me children on SH either, nor would I take them to a rated "R" movie.
I'm not judging other parents that do... that's their business.

If you're asking for the site to be 18+, that's highly unlikely to ever happen, as this site only exists to make 'Fef & Co' money.
Minors make up a good portion of the membership here; and without them, a big chunk of the revenue stream would be lost.
The world around us isn't going to change for the better simply because we wish it would.
Make me a double prude! =)
I often wonder if its all the effort of one or two people, or an entire group and they take turns...
It's highly probable that SH only has about anywhere from 350K to about half a million viable active accounts, once you weed out the socks, trolls and dead 404'd members...
That's rather odd, unless the majority of the site's members just lurk, and never comment...
Interesting, I never noticed
:P
I like how you're thinking of the safety of us teenagers when you suggest the idea, not just suggesting an age restriction because of some of the vacuous questions some of us ask. Since I'm 14, I know people like this. Many of us are vapid and naive people. That I understand. I mean, I go to school with people like this. How could I NOT understand?
However, this would punish all of us for the actions of some, which I don't view as fair. Even then, an age restriction probably wouldn't do much good since this is the Internet, a place where you can just lie, lie, lie all day and no one will be able to tell. They can't even see your face, after all. So if an age restriction were to be set, I'd just change my age. I could get away with being an adult, I'm pretty sure. Even if I couldn't, like I mentioned before, no one can prove anything anyway.
That aside...
I see you also brought up some of the adults here. Good job in doing that.
In the case of teenagers and conniving adults tricking teenagers, I'm a strong believer that we should really be focusing on the conniving adults. They're the ones with the true problem in my honest opinion. After all, we teenagers, especially girls, can't help the fact that we're basically a tar...

In the case of teenagers and conniving adults tricking teenagers, I'm a strong believer that we should really be focusing on the conniving adults. They're the ones with the true problem in my honest opinion. After all, we teenagers, especially girls, can't help the fact that we're basically a target because of our age and gender. However, an adult CAN help their actions towards us. They CAN control themselves instead of endangering us. I'm aware that some of us need to not be so naive, but in the end, the adults are the ones who are doing something that's essentially criminal. We should be focusing our attention on them.
In the end, I believe what goes around comes around, and these adults who are tricking people like me will get what's coming to them, even if they don't end up incarcerated like their actions suggest they should.
But thanks again, I really appreciate it. :)
