may be. i remember doing that as a child playing, it was realistic enough to make my mom come outside to look, of course i was playing. ha. yes i think the elements of thought can produce enough cluster to confuse the gathering of think, thus producing the symbolence of a personality. patience and ignor is a means of waiting for the brain to heal and rewire itself. the stuctures are designed for refit, it's a hope cope thing.

Or have spent alot of time alone. That doesn't mean you are lonely though. I have been alone and content. I have also been surrounded by people and felt lonely

I do it mostly when I am angry about something or I am trying to work out a solution to some problem I am encountering. I call it eliminanting ideas that wouldn't work and although my lipsa are mouthing words, they are not uttered out loud.

Naaa. My husband would do it when I was in same room. It can be a way to REALLY hear one's thoughts, to plan and remember tasks.

I've a friend who has said, "It's okay to talk to yourself. It's even okay to answer. It's only a problem when you say, 'HUH?'"

Me? I do it all the time. I'm usually on my own so I'm the only one I can talk to most of the time. I also drive over the road so I talk to the radio(the stereo not the c.b.) on a constant basis.

Nope. Smart people talk to themselves all the time, it's a sign of thinking. It's okay to think out loud. Or hum. Shows you are thoughtful.
I know a lot of talkative people who have a lot of friends who talk to themselves.

No. I talk to myself occasionally when I'm trying to work out a plot point for one of my stories and I'm never lonely. I'd make a very good hermit. I've always been my own best company.
