i think both affect our society now. you never heard of women sex offenders when i was growing up, just until recently. but i do know it is the people that others least expect, it is the teachers, the deacons of churches, boyscout and girl scout leaders, and i know by all means that this does not apply to the majority of the people. i know most are just good people, but it is people that are easily trusted by families and who would never expect somebody in these roles to do the things they do. when they see somebody that looks different from them, or acts different from them, and dont appear to belong in their society, they are quick to shield their children because he is scarey to them, when he might be the kindest person they ever met. you cant judge people by what they want the world to see them as, nor can you judge a person that just looks or acts scarey. all kids should be taught wha to report to their parents, and feel free to talk to their parents, and not fear not being not believed. what would be worse if a child told a parent about an abuse, and the parent didnt believe that a person of such high stature would do such a thing and not believe their child, or see the effects later on in their childs life after being continued to be abused by the same person, and then ...

I almost want to say they are equally threatening but males are useaully stronger and can get the girl better BUT rape period is scary no matter which sex. Although I am sure there are more male sex offenders out there. Not to be sexist but its rare to find a girl sex offender. and so maybe girls are more threatening cuz they can be more sneaky about it I guess.

if you are a little kid, and adult female made these kinds of advances and manipulation, i can see how a young boy coming of age can be attracted to the idea and even the action. but when they are expected to act as an adult in a child's body, for a long time, or even a short time, i am sure it has a bad affect on them just as it does girls. of course some may like to brag to their friends, but even talking with their friends, they are not believed. they are manipulated. i dont know of many females that just force themself on little boys as men do.but i think it is the manipulation that is so harmful to boys. i talk of kids, because i find them and women put more in the situation, than i hear of men. there are probably many adult men, that are abused by females or others but yet they can more often defend themself more than a female.

90% of women sex offenders were sexualy abused by a man . Also men are much stronger than women there for they can physically hurt you . Although the mental part lasts a life time ...

i believe male sex offenders are more threatening also due to their strength. you gave a percentage of how 90- percntage of women sex offenders were sexually abused by a man. and i have read that most people who were abused as a child, also abuse others as they have been abused. i was abused, but i would never hurt a child in the mental and physical ways i have been hurt ever. i read that before my sister got custody of my neice and nephew, and i was afraid to even hold them, because i thought i would be like the books i read, even though i had no kind of desire to do anything like that. but it took me a long time to show affection for them except from a distance because i never wanted them to mistaken my affection for anything but what it was. that is one of the affects of abuse, for you iread of what kind of person you may grow up to be, and that scares any teenager to death, it sounds like their fate has already been mapped out for them in a book, when that is so untrue of a lot of my friends who have been abused. they would never do such things. so when i first read your comment it first sounded like 90 percent of those who had been abused, became abusers, then i read it again and understood. but just because you were abused in your childhood, it dont mean you will automat...

I have to scoff at the ignorance of people who think male offenders are more "prevalent" or "numerous" in comparison to female offenders. Maybe if you get all your information from skewed media sources. What people do not seem to realize is how long this type of stuff has been kept secret. Even for male offenders the figures have only begun being recently recorded and I would be willing to bet theres still a multitude of cases that are never reported. So if we don't even know the truth about how many male offenders are out there, how can we even compare numbers of males vs. female offenders? So I dont see the threat as being gender based I see the threat being the unknown number of sex offenders we don't even know are out there still not being reported.

I had a hard time believing women can rape or use anyone against there will by the way I was brought up in society. But I read article on the internet by these experts and they said women can't rape is a myth and the facts are women who are sexually aggressive does choose to go against anyone as the fact. The more I think about how a woman can rape and it's been in these studies and cases I have a hard time accepting it as the truth and it bothers me indeed. So I'm not really sure what to think here even my partner believes and knows he has been sexually offended by a woman and he keeps saying over and over to me that is true. While my own sisters want me to denie it as the truth and this is where I'm confused here

there is something about the rarity of female sex offenders, or maybe it's just that they don't generally do things that are as bad as the men do... I mean with female sex offenders it's typically pubescent boys whereas my friend's baby's daddy just got busted for molesting their daughter who was 4... so... male offenders bother me MUCH more.

Male sex offenders are more threatening to society than female offenderes bar none.
Simply because of the male physical make up as to females but that is not to say female offenders cannot be threatening as well but they have to go some to be as threatening as a male case in point dominance makes a difference and female sex offender is going to have to go to some length to dominate me as oppose to the physical appearance of a male true or false

But, we must remember that whilst males have the physical advantage (for the majority of the time), males whom are sexually abused by females are less likely to report it as they feel less masculine and a mariot of other reasons.

Sex crimes are sex crimes. Gender does not make a difference. Men may be stronger, in some cases, but women can be more convincing and deceiving. Any person deranged enough to commit a sex crime is a threat to society. Who knows what else they could do?

I have the impression that a higher percentage of male sex offenders commit violent acts than female sex offenders, and are therefore more dangerous to society. It would be interesting to look up the statistics on this and see if my impression is correct or not - but I don't have time at the moment.

While the majority of sex offenders are male, it does not matter who sexually abused you, you are still just as messed up because of it.
