I'm sorry for my response, but my entire career has been to find possible problems with a plan so that measures can be taken to reduce their probability. I respectfully disagree that "creeps will run for the door". A single mother, especially those in emotional crisis, are targets of predators. Though the probabilities are low that she will be a victim, for us to speak in absolutes such as this could result in dire consequences.

Being you have earned my respect, I would assume that your daughter is a well rounded person and has a firm grasp on reality. To base our opinions upon our own offspring may very well set cutie up for failure. One great thing thing to do when you feel hopeless is to move forward. Hold your head up, square your shoulders and get stuck into the things you'll need to be planning for the future-- short- and long-range plans. THIS is where you start being strong for yourself and your baby. It's a scary time, but it's also really, really good for you!

You're in touch with your shortcomings now, maybe feeling vulnerable and alone. Here's where you fix things for yourself. A man will only bring his problems into your life at a time when you least need them. You're smart. You can do this! Talk to your nurses if you're wanting to know how to approach these things-- they deal with people in your situation all the time.

If I were you, I'd be checking out pre-natal classes, sorting out a proper home for a new baby and checking into ways I could make a living at home-- maybe on the internet. Maybe there's a college degree you can get started on. Maybe you can take a foreign language and apply for a decent civil service career.

Might seem hopeless, but you're young and strong, and you have everything to work for. Your life can be an excellent adventure-- and the way to start is to simply begin. :O)
